Chandigarh, November 1, 2025:The Phase-II of the 66th Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2025 continued in full swing at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh today. The campus was filled with enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy as over 400 participants from various colleges across the zone took part in a wide range of competitions.

The morning session was graced by the Cheif Guests Dr. B.C. Gupta (Retd. IAS Officer), Member of Daily Lok Adalat, Punjab and Haryana High Court; Dr. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examinations, Panjab University respectively . While the evening session was adorned by Cheif Guest Prof. Ravi Inder Singh, Dean, College Development Council, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Dr. B.C. Gupta commended the college for hosting the event with such grandeur and discipline. He remarked, “Youth festivals like this are not just about competition but about building confidence, teamwork, and respect for culture. The energy and enthusiasm witnessed here truly reflect the bright future of our nation.”

Prof. Ravi Inder Singh lauded the outstanding performances and organizational excellence of the festival. He stated, “The future indeed looks promising with talented and creative individuals leading the way. They truly deserve recognition and accolades for their efforts. Such platforms not only nurture artistic potential but also instill leadership, discipline, and a deep appreciation for our cultural roots. It is heartening to see young minds carrying forward the legacy of India’s rich heritage with such passion and pride.”

The Main Auditorium came alive with today’s power-packed theatrical performances in Mime, One Act Play, and Histrionics, featuring 11 teams in Mime, 5 teams in One Act Play, and 5 teams in Histrionics. Each presentation reflected creativity, social awareness, and expressive storytelling.

Meanwhile, the Open Stage celebrated the cultural heartbeat of Punjab with Giddha and Folk Dances. The competitions saw participation from 5 teams in Giddha, 7 teams in Folk Dance Boys (Jhumar, Malwai Gidha, Luddi), and 6 teams in Folk Dance Girls (Luddi), captivating the audience with rhythm, color, and traditional grace.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and guests, first aid facilities were arranged on campus in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for all four days of the festival.

The day culminated in an atmosphere of joy, applause, and pride as students showcased the true spirit of Punjab’s cultural legacy. With energy and enthusiasm at its peak, the festival is all set to close on a spectacular note tomorrow, promising a memorable celebration of art, talent, and tradition.
