Chandigarh, 31 October: The Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an Inter-College Quiz Competition on the theme ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’, under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The event aimed to sensitise youth about the detrimental effects of drug abuse and to inspire collective efforts toward building a drug-free society. The Guest of Honour and Quiz Master Ms. Ekum, an illustrious alumna graced the event with her presence.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation of 14 colleges, including Dev Samaj College for Women, Government College of Yoga Education and Health, Government College of Education-20, PG Government College-11, PG Government College for Girls-11, Government College-46, Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, GGDSD College, and the Regional Institute of English, Sector 32, among others.
The event commenced with a pledge ceremony, where all participants took an oath against drug abuse, reaffirming their resolve to promote a healthy and addiction-free future. After an intense and engaging competition, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women clinched the first position, while Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College and Government College of Education, Sector 20, secured the second and third positions, respectively. The winners were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates
