MAHENDERGARH, 31.10.25-On the occasion of National Unity Day and the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, organized a Unity March and Pledge Ceremony on Friday.

In his message, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, highlighted the significant role of Sardar Patel in strengthening India’s unity and integrity. He emphasized that along with achieving personal success, every individual must also nurture a spirit of service towards society and the nation to realize Sardar Patel’s dream of a united and prosperous India. Recalling the extraordinary contribution of Sardar Patel in uniting the nation, the Vice-Chancellor urged all participants to take a pledge to contribute toward building a stronger India.
The event was jointly organized by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) units of the University. Faculty members, staff, and students participated in the event, where the Pledge of National Unity and Integrity was administered in the presence of Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar. The participants also took part in a Unity Run held within the University campus to commemorate Sardar Patel’s legacy.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, reflected on Sardar Patel’s vital contribution to the unification of India. He stated that the observance of National Unity Day reminds us each year how India emerged as a unite nation. He described Sardar Patel as the architect of India’s political integration and encouraged students to safeguard the spirit of unity. Prof. Sharma remarked that the University itself represents a “Mini India,” where students from diverse states live, learn, and grow together.
Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, underlined the significance of the Unity March and encouraged students to contribute actively to realizing the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”. He described the pledge ceremony as a symbol of collective commitment and expressed confidence that it would inspire students to play a meaningful role in building a Viksit Bharat.
The event witnessed active coordination by Prof. Ramesh Kumar, Prof. Payal Kanwar Chandel, and Mr. Naresh Kumar from NCC; Dr. Yudhvir, NSS Programme Officer; and Dr. Neeraj Karan, Deputy Dean, Students’ Welfare.
