CHANDIGARH, 06.10.25-Under "Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar,” a multidisciplinary health camp was organized in collaboration between the Department of Community Medicine and the School of Public Health (DCMSPH), PGIMER, Chandigarh, and National Health Mission (NHM), UT Chandigarh, on October 1, 2025, at the Aayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM), Sector 49, Chandigarh. The event brought together senior leaders, program officers, clinicians, and community representatives to raise awareness, provide essential health services, and highlight the importance of women’s health as the backbone of empowered families.

The program commenced with a warm welcome and felicitations of dignitaries by Dr. Ankita Kankaria, Acting In-Charge of AAM-49, DCMSPH, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Dr. Shivika Pawar, a medical officer NHM, shared details about the health camp's services. Professor Dr. Madhu Gupta, DCMSPH, PGIMER Chandigarh, and In charge, AAM-49, provided a comprehensive overview of the services available at the center.

Mr. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, a councilor from Sector 49, appreciated the AAM 49 team for providing satisfactory services in the community. Dr. Manjeet Singh, Nodal Officer cum District Immunization Officer, NHM, spoke on the significance of immunization. Apart from the significance of this campaign for the health of women, Dr. Arun K. Aggarwal, Professor and Head, DCMSPH, PGIMER Chandigarh, emphasized the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation.

Dr. Suman Singh, Director of Health Services at GMSH 16, elaborated on the "Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar" activities and their impact in the Union Territory, encouraging beneficiaries to take advantage of the benefits offered at the camp. The keynote address was delivered by Professor Dr. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER Chandigarh, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to community health, appreciating the health staff of AAM 49, and addressing them as “Karmyogis”. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the health and well-being of both women and elderly individuals at home to build a strong family and nation. Prof Lal interacted with all the specialists, healthcare providers, and community members.

During the camp, specialist services were provided by the departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Medicine, and Psychiatry. Awareness was generated regarding Tele MANAS, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Eat Right, Food Safety, TB, Vector-Borne Diseases, and Iodized Salt. Camp beneficiaries appreciated the health staff of AAM 49 for providing satisfactory services. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vineeth Rajagopal, In-Charge of AAM-50, DCMSPH, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
