CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 6: On the auspicious occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Punjab Governor and Administrator of the Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, extended his warm greetings to the people of Punjab and Chandigarh and emphasized the importance of collective efforts for the socio-economic empowerment of underprivileged sections of society.
Describing Maharishi Valmiki Ji as a great sage and poet, the Governor said that the values of peace, virtue, and righteousness conveyed through his monumental works continue to remain highly relevant to society even today. He further highlighted that the sacred epic Ramayana, authored by Maharishi Valmiki Ji, serves as a timeless guide to ideal and virtuous living, universal humanism, and the oneness of mankind.
The Governor also observed that, as a social reformer and a champion of the downtrodden, Maharishi Valmiki Ji’s unparalleled contribution in promoting social justice, equality, and the welfare of oppressed communities will always be remembered and celebrated.
Shri Kataria urged the citizens to embrace the teachings of Maharishi Valmiki Ji in their daily lives and actively work towards socio-economic empowerment and the upliftment of marginalized sections of society.
