Chandigarh, October 06, 2025: As part of the ongoing activities under Mission Poshan 2.0, various programmes were conducted across different sectors of Chandigarh to promote health, nutrition, and early childhood care.
A Drive to create APAAR IDs was organized at Mouli Colony to facilitate the unique identification of children and ensure seamless access to educational and welfare benefits. A joint training session on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) was held at Daddumajra, bringing together Anganwadi Workers and pre-school teachers to strengthen their understanding of holistic child development and pre-school learning methodologies. Additionally, a Healthy Baby Show was conducted at Ramdarbar to encourage positive childcare practices and recognize well-nourished and healthy children.
Minor activities included a series of awareness sessions and demonstrations such as Lectures on Ayush for well-being, Need of Food Fortification, Promotion of Poshan ke Panch Sutre, and Home Visits for Complementary Feeding. Other informative sessions covered topics like Introduction of millets at an early age, Anemia prevention, Overall nutrition, Handwashing practices, Preparation for birth, Prevention of Diarrhoea, Importance of the First 1000 Days, Diet during Pregnancy, and Importance of Immunization, along with IFA Tablet distribution and Handwash demonstrations.
These initiatives collectively aimed to raise awareness on nutrition, hygiene, and early childhood development, fostering a healthier and well-informed community.
