CM directs to coordinate with J&K Govt. for safe evacuation of Himachali students
Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania met Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh here today and apprised him about the concerns raised by the parents of Himachali students studying in Jammu & Kashmir, mostly in Srinagar amid the prevailing tension between India and Pakistan. He said that about 103 students were currently pursuing their studies in Jammu & Kashmir and their families were deeply worried about their well-being and have urged to bring them home back safely.
The Chief Minister assured that the State Government would leave no stone unturned in ensuring their safety and well being of the Himachali students. He immediately asked the Chief Secretary for prompt and co-ordinated action to bring the students back home safely.

CM directs all DC's and SP's to take measures as per advisories, asks to remain vigilant at all times

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Superintendents of |Police (SPs) to stay vigilant in view of the latest cross-border tensions escalating between India and Pakistan. While presiding over a high-level meeting here today, the Chief Minister took the detailed feedback from the all DC's and SP's regarding the prevailing condition in their respective districts.
"There is no need to panic as such but you all should remain cautious and watchful at all level" stated the Chief Minister. He said that the essential government offices will remain operational across the State including the Chief Minister's office, Office of Chief Secretary and Control Rooms with essential staff during the upcoming three holidays.
The Chief Minister hoped that the district administration adjoining inter-state borders will immediately take necessary measures as and when warned by sound of the sirens particularly, in Pathankot, Chandigarh and in Jammu and Kashmir in case of possible escalation of tension. He directed that all must adhere to the instructions of Union Government and the State Government to ensure the safety of the people.
He also directed to ensure adequate security around the vital installations including religious places, airports, dams and bridges etc. He also instructed to conduct regular mock drills in accordance with the advisories of the Union Government. He also assured to extend full support in strengthening the Control Rooms established across the State.
Sh. Sukhu extended solidarity with the Indian Armed forces and the Union Government further commending the action of our armed forces for giving a befitting reply to the Pakistani failed intrusion. "We are proud of our brave hearts and action being taken by our Armed forces in safeguarding the Nation", he remarked.
The Chief Minister also urged the people of the State to rely on the official information and not sway in the rumours or fake news.
