Chandigarh, September 24:- Mayor of Chandigarh Sh. Saurabh Joshi inaugurated a newly constructed tubewell near Harish Dhaba in Village Daria today, marking another step towards strengthening the city’s water supply infrastructure. Area Councillor Smt. Bimla Dubey and local residents were present on the occasion.

Constructed under the Ward Development Fund at a cost of approximately ₹23 lakh, the tubewell will help improve water pressure and ensure a more adequate and reliable water supply to residents of Village Daria.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi announced that canal water projects worth approximately ₹22 crore for Wards No. 7, 8 and 9 have already been approved by the Municipal Corporation and will be taken up shortly. The projects will benefit residents of Village Daria, Mauli Jagran, Village Mauli, Vikas Nagar and Makhan Majra, providing a more sustainable source of water supply to these areas.

The Mayor said that strengthening basic civic amenities, particularly reliable drinking water infrastructure, remains a key priority of the Municipal Corporation.

He reiterated that the MC would continue to undertake development works aimed at improving the quality of civic services and ensuring better facilities for residents across Chandigarh.
