One arrested under NDPS ACT

A case FIR No. 98 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station IT Park on the complaint of ASI Hushinder 2053/CHG, against Naveen Kumar S/o Satish Kumar, R/o H. No. 838, NIC Manimajra, Chandigarh, who was apprehended near the backside of 66 KV Substation, IT Park, Chandigarh, on 23.09.2026 at about 8:10 PM while consuming heroin/chitta using foil paper. A lighter and a ₹10 currency note were also recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.

Four arrested under EXCISE ACT

A case FIR No. 54 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered at Police Station 19 on the complaint of HC Pawan Kumar 6367/CP, against Aman Sharma @ Monu S/o Dhani Ram Sharma and Abdulla S/o Pappu, who were apprehended near the petrol pump behind the bus stop on Slip Road, Sector 21, Chandigarh, on 23.09.2026 and 42 bottles of beer, one bottle of whisky and 48 Royal General Premium Blended Whisky were recovered from their possession. The accused were arrested and later bailed out.

A case FIR No. 156 u/s 61-1-14 Punjab Excise Act, 1914 has been registered at Police Station Manimajra on the complaint of HC Satish 6244/CP, against Rahul Rana S/o Shyam Singh Rana, R/o H. No. 123, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, who was apprehended from the backside of Vijay Kirana Store, Raipur Khurd jungle area, on 23.09.2026 at about 10:30 PM and 50 bottles of country-made wine Tango Santra were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.

CHEATING – Cyber Crime

A case FIR No. 158 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2) & 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of Sh. Harmesh Singh S/o Dilbagh Singh, R/o H. No. 1828, Dadu Majra, Sector 38 West, Chandigarh, against an unknown person who allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹55,000/- in connection with an online payment. Investigation of this case is in progress.

THEFT

A case FIR No. 124 u/s 303(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of lady R/o H. No. Sector 46/C, Chandigarh, against an unknown person who allegedly stole two gold bangles (one pair) from a bus near CTU Bus Stop Gate No. 01, PGI, Chandigarh, on 07.09.2026. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 164 u/s 305, 331(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station 39 on the complaint of lady R/o H. No. Sector 39/B, Chandigarh, against an unknown person who allegedly stole one refrigerator, one inverter along with battery, taps and other household articles from her house on 16.09.2026. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Voluntarily Causing Hurt

A case FIR No. 128 u/s 115(2), 126(2), 351(2) & 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Maloya on the complaint of Sh. Sonu S/o Jagan Nath Ram, R/o H. No. 4894/1, Sector 38 West, Dadu Majra, Chandigarh, against Shyam, Karan, Noni and Devyanshu, all residents of unknown addresses. The accused persons allegedly beat the complainant and attacked him with a knife near Mandi Ground, Dadu Majra, on 23.09.2026 . The complainant sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-16. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 167 u/s 115(2), 126(2), 324(4) & 351(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station 36 on the complaint of Sh. Manpreet Inder Singh S/o Amarjeet Singh, R/o Village Nathana, District Bathinda, Punjab, against Roshnapreet @ Jaila, Sehajpreet Singh and others, who allegedly beat the complainant and his friend Shahnoor near Turn MCM College, Sector 36, Chandigarh, on 22.09.2026. Both sustained injuries and were admitted to GH-16. Investigation of this case is in progress.
