Chandigarh, October 27:- Sh. Himanshu Gupta, Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, convened a review meeting today with Enforcement and Sanitary Inspectors to assess the status of temporary encroachments and cleanliness across various parts of the city.

During the meeting, the Joint Commissioner took a detailed review of field activities and emphasized the need for strict vigilance and proactive measures to maintain public spaces free from illegal encroachments and unhygienic conditions. He directed the Enforcement and Sanitation teams to strengthen field inspections and ensure that challaning against violators is carried out promptly and effectively.

Sh. Gupta expressed concern over recurring complaints regarding temporary encroachments and poor sanitation in certain areas and directed officers to adopt a zero-tolerance approach. He categorically stated that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any Inspector—either from the Enforcement or Sanitation wing—if violations or negligence are reported from their respective areas.

He further instructed the teams to work in close coordination to ensure visible improvement in public hygiene, market areas, and roadside cleanliness. The Joint Commissioner also urged citizens to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation by avoiding illegal occupations and maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings.
