CHANDIGARH, 04.10.25-The Department of General Surgery, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, successfully hosted the PGI Surgery Update 2025 on 3rd–4th October 2025 at the NINE Auditorium, PGIMER. The academic event, centered around the theme “Reimagining HPB Onco-Surgery”, brought together leading experts, researchers, and young surgeons to deliberate on innovations and future directions in hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) oncology.
The conference was inaugurated by *Prof. R.K. Ratho, Dean Academics, eminent virologist at PGIMER*, who graced the occasion as the *Chief Guest.* In his address, Prof. Ratho emphasized the importance of collaboration, research, and technological advancement in improving cancer surgery outcomes, and commended the Department of General Surgery for its academic leadership.
Delivering the inaugural address, *Prof. (Dr.) Lileswar Kaman, Organizing Chairman*, welcomed delegates and speakers. He highlighted PGIMER’s long-standing tradition of excellence in surgery and research, and underscored the need to embrace minimally invasive techniques, precision medicine, and AI-driven solutions while ensuring patient-centered and ethically grounded care.

At the valedictory session, Organizing Secretary Dr. Cherring Tandup expressed heartfelt gratitude to the faculty, participants, and organizing team.
