Chandigarh October 3- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the second phase of the Sabar Dairy (Amul plant) in Rohtak will not only help meet the growing dairy demand of Haryana and northern India but also open up new avenues of employment.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing the gathering at Rohtak on the occasion of the inauguration of the second phase of the Sabar Dairy (Amul plant) by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Sh. Amit Shah on Friday.

He said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation) has infused fresh energy into India’s cooperative movement. The establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation in 2021 reflected this vision, he said, adding that the National Cooperation Policy 2025 is one of its major achievements.

The Chief Minister said that Amul is not merely a brand of milk and dairy products; it represents the strength of India’s cooperative movement. He added that the modern plant in Rohtak will cater to the dairy requirements of Delhi-NCR and northern India while giving a significant boost to Haryana’s rural economy.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the plant, which first became operational in January 2015, has now undergone an expansion worth Rs. 325 crore. Following this expansion, it has emerged as the largest facility in the country for producing curd, buttermilk and yogurt, he said.

The Chief Minister further said that the expanded unit will ensure better prices for farmers and create thousands of employment opportunities for the youth. He shared that the state government is extending low-interest loans to farmers through cooperative societies. He added that HAFED is supplying high-quality seeds, fertilisers and pesticides on time, while the Sugar Federation is paying sugarcane farmers Rs. 400 per quintal and is operating six cooperative sugar mills across the state.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini shared that Haryana ranks third nationally in milk production, with per capita availability at 1,105 grams per day and annual production touching 122.2 lakh tonnes. Through cooperative dairy societies, producers have been receiving benefits under the Accident Insurance Scheme since 2015. In the financial year 2023–24, the insurance cover was raised to Rs. 10 lakh, he said.

The Chief Minister further informed that daughters of cooperative society members receive Rs.1,100 at the time of marriage, while students securing over 80 per cent marks in Classes 10 and 12 are given incentives ranging from Rs. 2,100 to Rs. 5,100 under the scholarship scheme.

Calling for collective efforts to strengthen the cooperative movement, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said, Let us join hands to build a prosperous and developed Haryana. He also expressed his gratitude to Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, saying that the inauguration of the plant by him was an inspiring moment for everyone present.

Chandigarh, October 3- Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah said that India has become the world’s largest milk-producing country today. Under the White Revolution-2, over 75,000 dairy cooperatives have been established nationwide, strengthening nearly 40,000 dairy cooperative institutions. He said the government’s goal is to connect every village in the country to the cooperative movement by 2029.

The Union Home Minister said this while addressing the gathering on the occasion of the inauguration of the expansion plant of Sabar Dairy (Amul plant) at IMT Rohtak on Friday. He said that the said plant will produce 150 metric tons of curd, 3 metric tons of buttermilk, 10 metric tons of yogurt, and 10 metric tons of sweets daily. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also remained present on this occasion.

Addressing the farmers present, Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah said that the dairy sector in India has seen the fastest global growth with a development rate of 70 percent over the past 11 years. Compared to 2014, growth in the dairy sector has risen from 86 percent to 120 percent.

He shared that in 2014, milk production in the country was 140 million tons, which has now increased to 249 million tons. The production of milk from indigenous cows has also risen from 29 million tons to 50 million tons, marking a significant achievement. Today, 8 crore new farmers are engaged in the dairy sector. As a result, per capita milk availability has increased from 124 grams in 2014 to 471 grams per day currently.

Honoring the resilience of Haryana’s women, Sh. Amit Shah highlighted that the state sends the largest number of youth to the paramilitary forces and the Indian Army. He said that every third medal in the country is won by athletes from Haryana, and the state's contribution to the country’s food storage is paramount.

The Union Home Minister also acknowledged that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi fulfilled the long-standing demand for a separate ministry for cooperatives and established new dimensions in this sector. He said that in the past four years, with the support of state governments, the Ministry of Cooperation has worked to strengthen the foundation of cooperation.

Sh. Amit Shah further said that today, Amul Dairy has launched the country’s largest plant for milk, buttermilk, sweets, and yogurt in Haryana. Since people in Haryana consume the most milk and buttermilk, the plant aims to improve supply not only to Haryana but also to the NCR region, he said.

The Union Home Minister said that starting with three people in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district, Sabar Dairy initially expanded to 9 districts in Gujarat and today operates a business worth Rs. 85,000 crore in India and abroad. The company has pledged to double the capacity of this plant within the next year. He assured that the plant will benefit every district of Haryana and connect lakhs of farmers. This dairy plant will be a milestone in Haryana’s prosperity.

Sh. Amit Shah promised Haryana’s livestock farmers that the benefits of the embryo transfer and sex determination scheme will reach all farmers. He also emphasized the need to promote beekeeping and organic farming in Haryana.

The Union Home Minister said the central government has set three goals for the benefit of livestock farmers, including animal feed, manure management, and circular use of residues from dairy animals.

Addressing the farmers, Sh. Amit Shah said the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) has been a boon for this sector. An Animal Husbandry Fund has been established to help farmers. He said the government plans to establish plants three times faster in the future to ensure Indian dairy products reach worldwide markets and farmers become self-reliant. The government’s goal is to promote research and increase the number of plants in this sector.

Chandigarh, October 3- Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, India is progressing towards becoming a developed nation. When the centenary of India's independence is celebrated, khadi will play a vital role in it. Khadi and Village Industries is becoming a powerful platform for millions of weavers, he said.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah interacted with artisans at the Khadi Mahotsav held at the Maharshi Dayanand University campus in Rohtak on Friday.

The Union Minister along with Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, distributed modern machines, toolkits, and margin money worth Rs. 301 crore under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), encouraging artisans to move towards self-reliance through Swadeshi.

The Union Minister also virtually inaugurated PMEGP units, a Central Wool Processing Plant, and Khadi and Village Industries buildings, including the newly constructed office and warehouse of KVIC in Panchkula, Haryana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Revived Khadi- Amit Shah

Union Minister, Sh. Amit Shah remarked that after independence, previous governments paid no attention to khadi and completely neglected Khadi and Village Industries. He said that when Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he pledged to develop khadi and worked to revive KVIC.

He said that because of the Prime Minister’s interest in khadi and his connection with the weavers, the khadi business under the Modi government has grown from Rs. 33,000 crore to Rs. 1.70 lakh crore in just 11 years.

Sh. Amit Shah emphasized that the benefits of this increased turnover have gone to the weavers of the country, not any capitalist or private industrialist. He added that KVIC has now developed excellent packaging and marketing systems. Speaking at the event, he expressed happiness in distributing 12 types of modern machines including automatic charkhas, leather machines, and also margin money to the weavers.

Swadeshi and Swabhasha are essential for Swaraj- Union Home Minister

The Union Cooperation Minister said that the vision of Swaraj at the time of independence was incomplete without Swadeshi and Swabhasha. In this direction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired 140 crore Indians to adopt indigenous products. He said that the concept of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) and the Swadeshi movement will be beneficial for every Indian. He further informed that the Prime Minister recently reduced GST on over 395 items, giving a Diwali gift to the people.

Sh. Amit Shah stated that khadi has an important role in strengthening the country’s economy, and that along with ‘Khadi for Nation’, there should also be ‘Khadi for Fashion’, with active participation from every Indian. He appealed to the public at the festival to adopt khadi, promote indigenous products, and make the country self-reliant.

Speaking on the development of khadi and indigenous products, he recalled how there was a time when khadi was only associated with freedom, but today, under Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership and the efforts of Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, khadi has become the most powerful medium of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The Chief Minister stated the government’s commitment that by the year 2047, when India becomes a developed nation, Haryana's economy will be worth one trillion dollars, and khadi and MSMEs will play a commendable role in achieving that goal, he said.

Government Advancing the Mantra of 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi'- CM

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the central government, by promoting the mantra of 'Sahakar Se Samriddhi’(Prosperity through Cooperation), has launched the National Cooperation Policy–2025, in which villages, agriculture, rural women, Dalits, and tribals are at the center. This policy emphasizes transparency, technology, and welfare of the members, because of which cooperative units are now standing on par with the corporate sector, he said.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s call for Swadeshi, Vocal for Local, and Make in India has strengthened the feeling of “Swadeshi in every home.” Recently, the GST reforms introduced by the Prime Minister have revitalized the economy, reducing costs and giving a boost to local products. In Haryana, the new GST slab system is expected to yield benefits worth Rs. 4,000 crore, he said.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the machines being distributed in Rohtak today by the Union Home Minister have replaced traditional machines, empowering artisans. Additionally, artisans are now benefiting from many government schemes related to khadi, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), he said.

The Chief Minister assured the Union Home and Cooperation Minister that the Haryana government will play a leading role in building a self-reliant India through Swadeshi initiatives.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah dedicates Major Development Projects for Haryana

Inaugurates and lays foundation stones for projects worth Rs 825 crore from the holy town of Kurukshetra

Chandigarh, October 3 - Union Home and Cooperation Minister Sh Amit Shah today dedicated several development projects for the people of Haryana. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 19 projects worth Rs 825 crore from the holy city of Kurukshetra.

These included the inauguration of five nursing colleges at a cost of Rs 262.51 crore, 84 residential quarters at Jind Police Lines, the PWD guest house and block in Narnaul, along with the foundation stones for 11 projects totaling Rs 562.49 crore.

The Union Minister launched all 19 projects simultaneously by pressing a button during a state-level exhibition programme organized by the Home Department in Kurukshetra district on Friday. Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini was also present at the event.

The Union Home Minister inaugurated five nursing colleges located in Kheri Ramnagar village, Kurukshetra (Rs 44.40 crore); Dherdu village, Kaithal (Rs 43.97 crore); Khedawali village, Panchkula (Rs 39.13 crore); Dayalpura village, Faridabad (Rs 45 crore); and Arwa village, Faridabad (Rs 47.44 crore). He also inaugurated a two-lane bridge on the Delhi-Hisar road at RD 69.3 on the JLN Feeder and BSB Canal constructed at a cost of Rs 12.03 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated 42 Type-2, 36 Type-3, and 6 Type-4 residential quarters at the Police Lines in Jind, as well as the PWD Rest House in Narwana, Mahendragarh district.

He also laid the foundation stones for several key healthcare infrastructure projects, including a 100-bed hospital in the Asandh sub-division of Karnal at a cost of Rs 76.19 crore; a maternal and child care block at the Civil Hospital in Sonipat costing Rs 138.12 crore; and a maternal and child care hospital in Nuh at an estimated cost of Rs 33 crore. In addition, foundation stones were laid for critical care block hospitals in Karnal (Rs 20.74 crore), Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat (Rs22.53 crore), and Nuh (Rs 22.58 crore).

In addition, the Union Home Minister laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects, including the strengthening of the Rohtak–Kharakoda–Delhi border road at a cost of Rs 25.04 crore; a dairy complex on Kanhali Road in Rohtak costing Rs 13.88 crore; a district jail building in Charkhi Dadri estimated at Rs 97.73 crore; and another district jail building in Panchkula at a cost of Rs 86.17 crore.

Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated a State level exhibition on India’s newly enacted criminal laws in Kurukshetra. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also remained present on this occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini called the occasion historic and transformative, noting that Kurukshetra, the birthplace of the Bhagavad Gita, was the ideal setting to launch a legal framework rooted in justice, fairness, and modern governance.

The Chief Minister said that the implementation of three new criminal laws has made India’s justice system more powerful, effective, and transparent than ever before. Through these laws, citizens are getting quicker justice. He added that it is a matter of pride for Haryana that the state not only implemented these laws in a short span of time but also achieved an impressive conviction rate of 82.6 percent, which is a significant accomplishment.

Historic Reforms Under Amit Shah’s Leadership – From Abrogation of Article 370 to New Criminal Laws, Nation has seen positive changes

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, the country has witnessed several revolutionary decisions that corrected historical wrongs. Abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has fulfilled the dream of a unified India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Citizenship Amendment Act has granted Indian citizenship to lakhs of refugees who had been living stateless in their own country. The construction of a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya has finally become a reality, he said. Replacing the three colonial-era criminal laws with three new ones is a historic and far-reaching decision that has strengthened the justice system, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana is not only a leading state in maintaining law and order but also guiding the nation in judicial reforms. The Haryana Police have been thoroughly trained for the effective implementation of the new criminal laws. All police officers and personnel have been made fully aware and capable of enforcing the new provisions. Investigating officers are now well-equipped to implement these laws practically, he said.

A New Chapter in Judicial Reforms in Haryana – 2,145 Video Conferencing Rooms Established

Emphasising the integration of modern technology into policing and investigation, the Chief Minister revealed that Haryana has launched the eSakshya and e-Summon apps, with all investigating officers trained to upload audio-video recordings digitally.

He said that to support remote testimony and electronic evidence handling, the state has established 2,145 video conferencing rooms across police stations, forensic labs, courtrooms, jails, and banks.

From January 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025, forensic examinations of crime scenes were recorded through the e-Sakshya app in 96.71 percent of cases. Additionally, to strengthen the system for examining, analyzing, and preparing reports on physical evidence related to criminal cases, Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) have been modernized at a cost of Rs. 19.54 crore.

He shared that now there is no need for citizens to visit police stations to file an FIR. Online FIRs can be registered. All zero FIRs are being converted into regular FIRs within 24 hours.

CM Reaffirms Haryana’s commitment to Legal Reforms

The Chief Minister assured the Union Home Minister that Haryana would continue to serve as a model state for governance and legal reform. Whatever progressive measures the Union Government introduces, Haryana will implement them with full commitment and urgency, he said.

Chandigarh, October 3-The credit for showcasing Haryana's rich cultural heritage and vibrant folk traditions to the nation and the world goes to the state’s folk artists, whose dedication and talent have carried the spirit of Haryanvi folk art to every nook and corner. In today's time when traditional art forms face the threat of fading away in the rush of modernity, these artists are working diligently to keep it alive. The state’s culture is a treasure of traditions that resonate not just across India but also abroad. Instruments such as the dhol-nagada, been, saang, and ragni are integral to Haryanvi culture, and it is essential that Haryana’s youth remain deeply connected to these roots.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that at Diwali Mela being held at Surajkund in Faridabad district under the theme “Aatmanirbhar Bharat – Swadeshi Mela,” folk artists from various districts of Haryana, supported by the Department of Art and Culture, are not only preserving the state’s glorious past through their traditional instruments and performances but also playing a vital role in connecting the younger generation with its cultural roots.

The spokesperson said that at the Surajkund Diwali Mela, Surender Singh and his Nagada party from Banchari village, Palwal district, Jai Singh Nath’s Music Sapera Dance party from Wazirpur Titana village in Sonipat district, and Master Chandrabhan’s Been party from Jind district are enthralling visitors while simultaneously strengthening and reviving the essence of folk art and culture. The dhol-nagada tradition of Banchari village, famous across India and abroad, remains a symbol of Haryana’s cultural pride.

The spokesperson further said that the Haryana government is making commendable efforts to introduce young people with the state’s cultural heritage. The Department of Art and Culture promotes various traditional art forms by organizing diverse cultural events across the state, which beautifully showcase the richness of Haryanvi culture.

Such cultural programmes have sparked a growing interest among the younger generation in the folk traditions of their state and country. Chandigarh, October 3- Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh Rajesh Khullar, released Old Hats, the 24th book by former senior IPS officer Sh Rajbir Deswal, at a function held here today at the auditorium of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskrit Academy.

The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including former Chief Secretary Smt Keshni Anand Arora, Executive Vice President of the Academy, Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri; Member Secretary Manjit Singh, Academy Directors Dr. Chander Trikha, Dr. Dharam Dev Vidyarthi, Dr. C.D.S. Kaushal, and Sh Harpal Singh; as well as renowned Ghazal singer Smt Gurdeep Gul.

The Chief Guest of the function, Sh Rajesh Khullar, highlighted various dimensions of Sh Rajbir Deswal's multifaceted personality, with a special focus on his literary achievements. Drawing a parallel between Deswal’s “Middles” and Gautam Buddha’s “Middle Path,” he reflected on how a writer transforms personal experiences into shared narratives. He remarked that the true essence of art lies in making the finite appear infinite.

Executive Vice President of the Academy, Professor Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri, extended heartfelt congratulations to Sh Rajbir Deswal on the release of his 24th book. Senior journalist Smt Vandana Shukla engaged the author in a detailed conversation, delving into the creative journey behind the making of Old Hats.

Enriched by deep study and rooted in a rural upbringing, 68-year-old Sh Rajbir Deswal is a truly multifaceted personality. He is a celebrated writer, artist, administrator, nationally honored police officer, and a sensitive individual who has deeply internalized the subtleties of life.

Balancing professional excellence with literary passion, Sh Deswal has authored 24 books and over 5,000 articles. He was honoured with the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2008 and the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in 2016. His literary contributions have earned him the Haryana Sahitya Academy’s Pandit Lakhmichand Award, Vishesh Sahitya Sevi Samman, and the Haryana Gaurav Samman. He is also a member of the Indian Society of Authors.

The program was conducted by Shams Tabrezi.

The event was attended by senior officials, prominent literary figures, and several writers from the Tricity.

Rs.367.42 crore transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts so far during Kharif procurement season in Haryana

So far 590657.46 lakh MT of paddy procured from Haryana mandis

Procurement carried out from 53,789 farmers registered on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal

Chandigarh, October 3- During the ongoing Kharif procurement season 2025–26, a total of Rs.367.42 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers in Haryana, ensuring timely payment of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers.

Procurement is being carried out from farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. So far, paddy has been procured from 53,789 registered farmers across the state.

Sharing information in this regard a spokesperson of the Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that till now a total of 735398.93 metric tonnes of paddy have arrived in the state’s mandis so far. So far, 219510.74 metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from mandis in various districts. A total of 590,657.46 metric tons of paddy has been procured from the mandis.

The spokesperson said that since the beginning of the Kharif procurement season on September 22, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has made the highest procurement in the state, purchasing 3,48,132.68 metric tonnes of paddy so far. HAFED has procured 1,75,166.98 metric tonnes, while the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation has purchased 67,357.78 metric tonnes of paddy, the spokesperson added.

The spokesperson further said that paddy procurement across Haryana’s mandis and procurement centres is being jointly carried out by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, HAFED, and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation.
