Inaugurates and lays foundation stones for projects worth Rs 825 crore from the holy town of Kurukshetra
Chandigarh, October 3 - Union Home and Cooperation Minister Sh Amit Shah today dedicated several development projects for the people of Haryana. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 19 projects worth Rs 825 crore from the holy city of Kurukshetra.
These included the inauguration of five nursing colleges at a cost of Rs 262.51 crore, 84 residential quarters at Jind Police Lines, the PWD guest house and block in Narnaul, along with the foundation stones for 11 projects totaling Rs 562.49 crore.
The Union Minister launched all 19 projects simultaneously by pressing a button during a state-level exhibition programme organized by the Home Department in Kurukshetra district on Friday. Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini was also present at the event.
The Union Home Minister inaugurated five nursing colleges located in Kheri Ramnagar village, Kurukshetra (Rs 44.40 crore); Dherdu village, Kaithal (Rs 43.97 crore); Khedawali village, Panchkula (Rs 39.13 crore); Dayalpura village, Faridabad (Rs 45 crore); and Arwa village, Faridabad (Rs 47.44 crore). He also inaugurated a two-lane bridge on the Delhi-Hisar road at RD 69.3 on the JLN Feeder and BSB Canal constructed at a cost of Rs 12.03 crore. Additionally, he inaugurated 42 Type-2, 36 Type-3, and 6 Type-4 residential quarters at the Police Lines in Jind, as well as the PWD Rest House in Narwana, Mahendragarh district.
He also laid the foundation stones for several key healthcare infrastructure projects, including a 100-bed hospital in the Asandh sub-division of Karnal at a cost of Rs 76.19 crore; a maternal and child care block at the Civil Hospital in Sonipat costing Rs 138.12 crore; and a maternal and child care hospital in Nuh at an estimated cost of Rs 33 crore. In addition, foundation stones were laid for critical care block hospitals in Karnal (Rs 20.74 crore), Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat (Rs22.53 crore), and Nuh (Rs 22.58 crore).
In addition, the Union Home Minister laid the foundation stones for several key infrastructure projects, including the strengthening of the Rohtak–Kharakoda–Delhi border road at a cost of Rs 25.04 crore; a dairy complex on Kanhali Road in Rohtak costing Rs 13.88 crore; a district jail building in Charkhi Dadri estimated at Rs 97.73 crore; and another district jail building in Panchkula at a cost of Rs 86.17 crore.

Union Home Minister Sh Amit Shah formally inaugurated the exhibition in Kurukshetra and observed a live demonstration of the implementation process. On this momentous occasion, Sh Amit Shah also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a series of development projects worth several crores across Haryana. These initiatives span home affairs, cooperation, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Live Demonstration of the New Justice Process
A special live demonstration illustrated the swift response of police to emergency calls on 112 and the streamlined process of justice delivery under the new laws. The entire sequence was displayed on large LED screens at the venue, offering the public a transparent view into the enhanced efficiency and accountability of the system.
Renewed Trust in the Judiciary
Impressed by the exhibition and Haryana’s judicial infrastructure, Sh Amit Shah expressed confidence that the new laws will significantly bolster public trust in the legal system. He also recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier praised CM Nayab Singh Saini and the state government’s proactive governance during his Mann Ki Baat program.

Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated a State level exhibition on India’s newly enacted criminal laws in Kurukshetra. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also remained present on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini called the occasion historic and transformative, noting that Kurukshetra, the birthplace of the Bhagavad Gita, was the ideal setting to launch a legal framework rooted in justice, fairness, and modern governance.
The Chief Minister said that the implementation of three new criminal laws has made India’s justice system more powerful, effective, and transparent than ever before. Through these laws, citizens are getting quicker justice. He added that it is a matter of pride for Haryana that the state not only implemented these laws in a short span of time but also achieved an impressive conviction rate of 82.6 percent, which is a significant accomplishment.
Historic Reforms Under Amit Shah’s Leadership – From Abrogation of Article 370 to New Criminal Laws, Nation has seen positive changes
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Sh. Amit Shah, the country has witnessed several revolutionary decisions that corrected historical wrongs. Abrogation of Article 370 and 35A has fulfilled the dream of a unified India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Citizenship Amendment Act has granted Indian citizenship to lakhs of refugees who had been living stateless in their own country. The construction of a grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya has finally become a reality, he said. Replacing the three colonial-era criminal laws with three new ones is a historic and far-reaching decision that has strengthened the justice system, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana is not only a leading state in maintaining law and order but also guiding the nation in judicial reforms. The Haryana Police have been thoroughly trained for the effective implementation of the new criminal laws. All police officers and personnel have been made fully aware and capable of enforcing the new provisions. Investigating officers are now well-equipped to implement these laws practically, he said.
A New Chapter in Judicial Reforms in Haryana – 2,145 Video Conferencing Rooms Established
Emphasising the integration of modern technology into policing and investigation, the Chief Minister revealed that Haryana has launched the eSakshya and e-Summon apps, with all investigating officers trained to upload audio-video recordings digitally.
He said that to support remote testimony and electronic evidence handling, the state has established 2,145 video conferencing rooms across police stations, forensic labs, courtrooms, jails, and banks.
From January 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025, forensic examinations of crime scenes were recorded through the e-Sakshya app in 96.71 percent of cases. Additionally, to strengthen the system for examining, analyzing, and preparing reports on physical evidence related to criminal cases, Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) have been modernized at a cost of Rs. 19.54 crore.
He shared that now there is no need for citizens to visit police stations to file an FIR. Online FIRs can be registered. All zero FIRs are being converted into regular FIRs within 24 hours.
CM Reaffirms Haryana’s commitment to Legal Reforms
The Chief Minister assured the Union Home Minister that Haryana would continue to serve as a model state for governance and legal reform. Whatever progressive measures the Union Government introduces, Haryana will implement them with full commitment and urgency, he said.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Dr. Sumita Misra, shared detailed information about the implementation of the new criminal laws. She said that before implementing the new laws, several pivotal measures have been taken at the state level including administrative preparation, training of officers, and strengthening technical infrastructure. She emphasized that this transformation will not only make law enforcement more effective but also strengthen the common citizen's trust in the judicial system.

Chandigarh, October 3- Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh Rajesh Khullar, released Old Hats, the 24th book by former senior IPS officer Sh Rajbir Deswal, at a function held here today at the auditorium of the Haryana Sahitya and Sanskrit Academy.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including former Chief Secretary Smt Keshni Anand Arora, Executive Vice President of the Academy, Dr. Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri; Member Secretary Manjit Singh, Academy Directors Dr. Chander Trikha, Dr. Dharam Dev Vidyarthi, Dr. C.D.S. Kaushal, and Sh Harpal Singh; as well as renowned Ghazal singer Smt Gurdeep Gul.
The Chief Guest of the function, Sh Rajesh Khullar, highlighted various dimensions of Sh Rajbir Deswal's multifaceted personality, with a special focus on his literary achievements. Balancing professional excellence with literary passion, Sh Deswal has authored 24 books and over 5,000 articles. He was honoured with the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2008 and the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service in 2016. His literary contributions have earned him the Haryana Sahitya Academy’s Pandit Lakhmichand Award, Vishesh Sahitya Sevi Samman, and the Haryana Gaurav Samman. He is also a member of the Indian Society of Authors.

Rs.367.42 crore transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts so far during Kharif procurement season in Haryana
So far 590657.46 lakh MT of paddy procured from Haryana mandis
Procurement carried out from 53,789 farmers registered on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal
Chandigarh, October 3- During the ongoing Kharif procurement season 2025–26, a total of Rs.367.42 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers in Haryana, ensuring timely payment of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to farmers.
Procurement is being carried out from farmers registered on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. So far, paddy has been procured from 53,789 registered farmers across the state.
Sharing information in this regard a spokesperson of the Haryana Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that till now a total of 735398.93 metric tonnes of paddy have arrived in the state’s mandis so far. So far, 219510.74 metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from mandis in various districts. A total of 590,657.46 metric tons of paddy has been procured from the mandis.
The spokesperson said that since the beginning of the Kharif procurement season on September 22, the Food and Civil Supplies Department has made the highest procurement in the state, purchasing 3,48,132.68 metric tonnes of paddy so far. HAFED has procured 1,75,166.98 metric tonnes, while the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation has purchased 67,357.78 metric tonnes of paddy, the spokesperson added.
The spokesperson further said that paddy procurement across Haryana’s mandis and procurement centres is being jointly carried out by the Food and Civil Supplies Department, HAFED, and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation.
