Two arrested for public drinking
A case FIR No. 79 u/s 68(1)(B) PP Act 2007 & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area against Monu Kumar R/o Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 30 years. The accused was apprehended near Shop No. 13, MW Market, Phase 1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025 at about 1:49 AM while drinking at a public place and creating a nuisance. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
A case FIR No. 79 u/s 68(1)(B) PP Act 2007 & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran against Sahil R/o Mauli Jagran, aged 23 years. The accused was apprehended near Wine Shop, NAC, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025 at about 7:30 PM while drinking at a public place and creating a nuisance. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
One arrested under NDPS act
A case FIR No. 81 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area against Vajinder Kumar @ Monu R/o Mauli Jagran Complex. The accused was apprehended near Cremation Ground, Phase 1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025 at about 9:58 PM and 10.30 gm heroin in a polythene bag was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and is in police lock-up.
One arrested under excise and Arms Act
A case FIR No. 159 u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act and 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station 31 against Pankaj Kabadia R/o Phase 2, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, aged 47 years. The accused was apprehended near Open Ground, Kabadi Market, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025 at about 8:30 PM. Police recovered 50 quarters of Super Himmat Santra Country Made Liquor (180 ml each), 34 quarters of Royal General Premium (180 ml each), 16 bottles of Blue Stroke Whisky (750 ml each), and one Kamani Dhar knife from his possession. The accused was arrested and is in police lock-up.
One arrested in Assault case
A case FIR No. 68 u/s 118(1), 3(5), 351(2)(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sarangpur on the complaint of Yogesh R/o Dhanas, and Pinkle Kumar R/o Dhanas, Chandigarh against Kaka Khan and others (address unknown). The accused allegedly tried to kill the complainant by stabbing him with a sharp knife near HDFC Bank, Dhanas, on 08-08-2025 at about 8:15 PM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GMSH-16, Chandigarh. Later, one accused, Pawan @ Tunda R/o Kacchi Colony, Dhanas, aged 19 years, was arrested and is in police lock-up.
Snatching
A case FIR No. 80 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of a lady resident of Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, aged 42 years. The complainant was allegedly targeted by two unknown motorcyclists who sped away after snatching a bag containing a mobile phone, Aadhaar card, PAN card, and other documents near the railway bridge, slip road from Tribune Chowk to Hallo Majra Chowk, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 125 u/s 125, 318(4), 61(2) BNS, and 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 17 on the complaint of Arshdeep Singh R/o near Govt. School, Mundi Kharar, District Mohali, along with 12 others, against Deepak Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Rajnish, and others, all residents of Shri Ram Overseas, SCO No. 76-78, near Deepak Radio, Sector 17/D, Chandigarh. The accused allegedly cheated complainants of approximately ₹1,09,04,743/- under the pretext of providing work and tourist visas. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 126 u/s 420 IPC and 24 Immigration Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 17 on the complaint of Ramesh Singh R/o Sector 56, Chandigarh, against Kuljit Singh Rana R/o Campbell Visa Consultants, SCO No. 60-61-62, 4th Floor, Sector 17/C, Chandigarh. The accused allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹2,00,000 under the pretext of providing work and tourist visas. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 85 u/s 305, 331(3), 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector 26 on the complaint of Khim Raj R/o Sector 28/D, Chandigarh, aged 53 years. The complainant reported that an unknown person stole cash of ₹3,500/-, 8 kg Verka Desi Ghee, 3 boxes of milk, 1 box of sweet lassi, and chocolates worth approximately ₹15,000/- from Verka Booth No. 28/1, Sector 28, Chandigarh, on 09-08-2025. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 78 u/s 331(4), 305(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Krishan Kumar R/o Mauli Jagran. The complainant reported that on the night of 7/8-08-2025, an unknown person stole jewellery (four gold rings, three mangal sutras, two pairs of earrings, and two pairs of silver anklets), ₹10,000/- cash, and one Oppo phone from his residence. Investigation of this case is in progress.
