CHANDIGARH, 05.05.25-In recognition of the outstanding contribution by the NSS Units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, to the nationally acclaimed Project Sarathi, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, honoured the college during the first anniversary celebration held at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). “Great acts are made up of small deeds,” remarked Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, while addressing the gathering.
The college was felicitated for its exceptional support and coordination of student volunteer services throughout the past year. In addition, six outstanding NSS volunteers - Mridula Ahuja, Nancy, Mannat Bhandari, Krishika, Aarti, and Navjot Kaur, were specially awarded for dedicating over 120 hours of selfless service during the last academic session. The NSS Units of the college have played a pivotal role in the success of Project Sarathi. Over 80 volunteers from MCM rendered dedicated service, assisting with patient registration, guiding patients to the appropriate departments, and disseminating critical information regarding hospital procedures. Their efforts significantly improved hospital efficiency, allowing medical professionals to focus more effectively on patient care.
On this occasion, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma expressed her pride in the volunteers’ achievements. She emphasised that recognition brings with it an even greater responsibility to uphold high standards of commitment and service. Congratulating the awardees, she reaffirmed the college’s continued and wholehearted support for Project Sarathi.
