One arrested under Arms Act
A case FIR No. 105 U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 26, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on 17.10.2025 during patrolling near Community Center, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, one person named Rijwan @ Gatha, resident of House No. 724, Village Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, aged 19 years, was apprehended recovered one Kamanidar knife from his possession without any permit or license. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under NDPS
A case FIR No. 68 U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sector 49, Chandigarh. On 17.10.2025 a the police arrested Ritesh Kumar R/o #2587, Sector 49/C, Chandigarh, aged 22 years, from near the EWS Colony Park, Sector 49. Upon search, the police recovered 8 grams of opium and methaqualone from his possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested under Gambling Act
A case FIR No. 80 U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh. On 17.10.2025, the complainant apprehended two persons near Lalit Hotel, IT Park, Chandigarh, who were found playing gambling with cards and cash. The accused were identified as Gopal @ Gupli, R/o #842, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 24 years, and Ameer Hasan, R/o #2235, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh, aged 40 years. A total of ₹10,050/- cash was recovered from their possession. Both accused were arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested for Trespassing
A case FIR No. 196 U/S 329(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector 31, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Vinay Sharma, who reported that on 17.10.2025 at about 7:21 PM, one person Sukhwinder Singh R/o Village Allawalpur (Lalpur Bhana), District Hoshiarpur, Punjab, aged 32 years, unlawfully entered into the campus area of Air Force, Sector 31. The accused was immediately detained by security personnel and handed over to the police. The accused has been arrested and is in police lock-up. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 210 U/S 305, 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector 36, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Dr. Para Singh Kamal, who reported that unknown persons committed theft at his residence. The incident took place on 09.10.2025, during which sanitary fittings, taps, security camera with TV screen, one laptop, movie camera, and two woolen suits were stolen. Investigation of this case is in progress.
