Chandigarh, 11.10.25-Colonel Gursewak Singh (Veteran), President of Residents Welfare Association, MHC Sector-13 Chandigarh, presented a memorandum to Shri Manish Tewari, Hon'ble MP for Chandigarh, during his visit to MHC to inaugurate the installation of CCTV cameras funded by his MPLAD funds.

While expressing gratitude for the sanctioned funds, the President raised the following issues:

1. The installation of 67 cameras at approximately ₹15,000 per camera, including accessories, suggests possible estimate exaggeration.
2. Local police expertise could have ensured optimal camera placement.
3. The Municipal Corporation (MC) should consult RWA before undertaking resident-related activities to avoid wasteful expenditure, citing examples such as: Disconnecting water connections in RWA-maintained parks without notice, which were restored after strong protests.
4. Stalled repairs and maintenance work due to claimed lack of funds and material, affecting the overall outlook of MHC.
5.Permission to install lifts is not forthcoming from CHB .

The Hon'ble MP assured that these pending issues would be taken up with the MC authorities.
