CHANDIGARH, 12.10.25-Enactus SSBUICET team of Panjab University proudly represented the institution at the prestigious Khushwant Singh Literacy Fest 2025 (KSLF 25) held in Kasauli from October 10-12October. The team showcased its pioneering social entrepreneurship ventures blending innovation, sustainability and community impact. This year KSLF’s theme “Voices of Tomorrow: Navigating the Future through Words" strongly resonated with Enactus’s mission. While literature channels the power of words to drive change, Enactus empowers youth through purposeful action, remarked Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty Advisor to the Enactus team and President of the Corporate Sustainability Council, WICCI Chandigarh.
The event featured several renowned speakers including Amarjit Singh Dulat, who served as head of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), India's spy agency; Anup Soni, a versatile Indian actor and Aparna Ananth, consultant with the Sankara Group of Schools in Chennai. They discussed a range of topics including Lighting up the future: India’s clean energy journey; The Alchemy of wealth and Opening minds, lifting spirits, conveyed Ms.Vani Mehta, KSLF organizer.
Bringing creativity and purpose together, the Enactus team set up an engaging stall that captivated visitors with its vibrant display and meaningful message. The exhibit featured a beautifully curated collection of eco-friendly, handcrafted products created by underprivileged communities- including incense sticks, dhoop cones, sambrani cups, scented candles and pottery, embodying the team’s dedication to sustainability, ethical craftsmanship and community empowerment, shared Harshnoor Kaur, President of Enactus team.
In collaboration with NGO Waste Warriors, Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana & CSC WICCI, the team also organized a cloth-based sanitary napkin donation drive under their women-centric initiative, reaching out to a local community in Kasauli. The drive focused on promoting menstrual hygiene, spreading health awareness and empowering women, further amplifying Enactus’s commitment to inclusive social progress, explained Samardeep Kaur, Project Head. Ms. Geetanjali Bakshi, CSR Coordinator at Versatile Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., lauded the collaboration and emphasized the significance of such initiatives in promoting sustainable menstrual health practices.
Extending their impact beyond the fest grounds, the students carried out door-to-door marketing across Kasauli, interacting with residents to promote conscious consumerism and inspire a shift toward sustainable living, shared Aryan Kamboj, Head of Innovation.
Samaira Talwar, Events Head added that the team’s outreach in Kasauli was deeply fulfilling and strengthened their belief in making sustainability a shared community goal.
