Chandigarh, August 5:Ravi Rawat, Media Incharge of Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh, informed that the Chandigarh administration has taken a positive and prompt step on a major public issue raised by BJP State President Jitender Pal Malhotra.

In a meeting with traffic police officials, the State President strongly raised the issue that stopping vehicles without a clear reason and issuing challans is not only unjustified but also causes public resentment. This was especially problematic for drivers coming from outside, who may not be fully familiar with the local traffic rules. Frequent stoppages and challans had become a serious concern for them.

Taking this issue seriously, DGP Chandigarh Sagar Hooda has now issued orders that no vehicle will be stopped and fined arbitrarily on roads. Instead, challans will only be issued based on camera surveillance at traffic lights.

For this swift and sensitive decision, State President Jitender Pal Malhotra has openly appreciated DGP Hooda and called him a public-responsive officer. He expressed confidence that just as the traffic system has been addressed in the public interest, the growing drug menace in Chandigarh will also soon be strictly curbed.

Malhotra said that effective action against drugs is also expected soon, and DGP Hooda’s active role will prove crucial in that.

Bharatiya Janata Party welcomes this decision and considers it a bold and public-friendly move.
Media Incharge Ravi Rawat stated that this proves when public issues are raised sincerely, the administration responds with sensitivity.
