Chandigarh, May 19: - Get ready for a parking experience like never before, Chandigarh! The Municipal Corporation is taking a big step towards making parking hassle-free with its upcoming "Smart Parking" project.
In a meeting held today, spearheaded by sub panel Chairman Saurabh Joshi and with the participation of Councillor Jaswinder Kaur, Mr. Umesh Ghai, and other concerned key officials, the groundwork for this innovative initiative was laid. The team even visited Elante Mall to get a firsthand look at existing automated parking systems and smart features.

* Your Phone is Your Parking Buddy: The project includes an easy-to-use mobile app to find, book, and pay for parking – all from your smartphone.
* Go Cashless: Forget fumbling for change. Payments will be seamless through cards, digital wallets, and UPI.
* Smart Guidance: The app and on-site signs will offer turn-by-turn directions to vacant parking spaces.
* No More Tickets: License plate recognition technology will enable automatic entry and exit at parking facilities.
* More Space, Smarter Parking: Automatic multi-level parking systems will efficiently stack vehicles, maximizing parking capacity.
* Dynamic Pricing: Parking fees may adjust based on factors like demand and time of day.
* Added Perks: The plan includes extra services such as charging points for electric vehicles, CCTV surveillance for enhanced security, and potential integration with public transport ticketing.
The Municipal Corporation will soon release a public Request for Proposal (RFP), inviting experienced smart parking companies to submit their proposals.
