ROPAR, 19.05.25-IIT Ropar's Centre of Excellence in AI for Agriculture, ANNAM.AI, and ICAR - Indian Institute of Soil Science (IISS), Bhopal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 19, 2025, to develop AI-enabled soil health mapping tools and Digital Soil Twin framework and precision nutrient and fertilizer management practices. The MoU aims to facilitate the development of data-enabled innovations to help accelerate continuous development of more sustainable and resilient agricultural practices.
The MoU was executed by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and Dr. Monoranjan Mohanty, Director, ICAR-IISS, in the presence of senior dignitaries from both institutions.
On the occasion, Dr. Monoranjan Mohanty stated “This collaboration will help improve resource use efficiency, reverse land degradation, and implement smart agriculture practices in line with national and global priorities.”
