CHANDIGARH, 25.09.25-As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign themed “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath Shramdaan”, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, organized a special cleanliness drive on 25th September 2025 under the banner of Swachh Utsav. The initiative, led by the Department of Hospital Administration, saw enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff, and students, reaffirming the institute’s commitment to cleanliness, community involvement, and the well-being of its staff and patients.

The programme was graced by Prof Vivek Lal, Director PGIMER; Prof R K Ratho, Dean (Academics); Prof Sanjay Jain, Dean (Research); Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent and Head, Department of Hospital Administration; Prof. Ashok Kumar, Additional MS PGIMER; along with other dignitaries.

Delivering an inspiring address, Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, lauded the tireless dedication of the institute’s sanitation workers, security staff, and ground-level employees, calling them the “true Karma Yogis of PGI.”

“It is very important, especially in hospital surroundings, that we keep our environment clean and also involve the community in this mission. I bow my head and thank the cleaners of PGI, the workers on ground zero who work with their hearts. Their commitment is our true victory,” said Prof. Lal.
