CHANDIGARH,25.09.25-The Department of Fashion Designing, Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, organized a two-day workshop, “Towel Tales: Acramine Dye Painting for Beginners,” under the PM-USHA Scheme on 24th and 25th September 2025 conducted by Mrs. Rashmi Bindra, Textile Designer and Director of Taraash by Rashmi Bindra.
Dr. Sumita Sikka, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing, formally welcomed the Chief Guest, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Registrar of the college, who appreciated the expertise of the resource person. Mrs. Bindra introduced students to the art of dye painting on towels, guiding them through the fundamentals of dye painting, focusing on techniques such as maintaining color consistency, selecting suitable brushes for smooth application, and applying Acramine dyes with precision in design and placement. The session also explored the behavior of fabrics like georgette and tabby silk when treated with dyes. The workshop offered hands-on training, allowing participants to create unique and professionally finished fabric designs.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sumita Sikka, along with the organizing committee comprising Ms. Tania Sharma, Ms. Ekta Dhiman, Ms. Dikshita Chauhan, and Ms. Rupali Jindal, who ensured the smooth execution of the program.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma appreciated the expertise shared by the resource person, the dedicated efforts of the coordinator, and the contributions of the organizing committee members.
