Chandigarh, 09.09.25: A meeting to review the progress of the NAKSHA Pilot Programme in U.T. Chandigarh was held today under the chairmanship of Shri Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, U.T. Chandigarh.
The meeting witnessed active participation from officials of the Survey of India (SOI), National Informatics Centre (NIC), Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC), Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC) (through VC), and the State Project Management Unit (SPMU), NAKSHA, U.T. Chandigarh.
The review highlighted the scope of the pilot project, which covers five villages—Burail, Attawa, Kajheri, Palsora, and Sarangpur—and 15 sectors (Sectors 2 to 17). It was informed that the drone survey has been completed, and field verification of property features will commence from 20th September 2025. For this purpose, 20 survey teams comprising five members each have been constituted to carry out the exercise in a systematic and time-bound manner.
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress on the creation of Record of Rights (RoR) for properties in the Lal Dora areas of these villages, under which all property records will be consolidated and Urban Property (UrPro) Cards issued. He stressed that adequate training of surveyors deployed for field data collection must be ensured for accuracy and efficiency.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the timelines set for each stage of the project to ensure its timely completion. He further instructed the SPMU to maintain close coordination among all implementing agencies for the smooth and effective execution of the programme.
