CHANDIGARH,14-08-2025-The Department of Experimental Medicine and Biotechnology at PGIMER, Chandigarh, successfully organized an insightful Industry Lecture on 12.08.2025, featuring esteemed expert Dr. Ashish K. Dubey, a distinguished professional in the field of biotechnology and genomics, and Founder of Gene Print Life Sciences, and Institute of Eminence Science and Research. The lecture was held as part of the DBT’s curriculum to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry-relevant skills.
The session was centred around the theme of skill-based learning and practical application of biotechnology techniques, with a specific focus on their role in modern healthcare. Mr. Dubey shared invaluable insights into the integration of genomic information in diagnostic procedures and genetic counselling, highlighting how these tools are revolutionizing early detection and personalized healthcare strategies.
On a major discussion between our HOD, Professor Dibyajyoti Banerjee,Dr. Dubey, and students, the importance of applying already learned techniques—such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and molecular diagnosticsin real-world clinical and industrial settings was emphasized. He illustrated how the interpretation of genomic data is crucial for accurate diagnosis and for guiding patients through informed decision-making processes in genetic counselling. This lecture served as a vital platform for students to understand the practical implications of biotechnology in addressing today’s healthcare challenges and emphasized the need for continuous skill development to remain relevant in the fast-evolving biomedical landscape. The Department of Experimental Medicine & Biotechnology extends its gratitude to Dr. Ashish K. Dubey for his thought-provoking lecture.
