Jalandhar, 04.08.25-; Freshman Induction 2025 began with massive enthusiasm at Lovely Professional University, as thousands of students from across India and abroad arrived on campus. The three-week-long orientation is designed to help students settle into their new environment and explore the full spectrum of opportunities available at one of India’s most dynamic and future-forward universities.
The Unipolis Auditorium buzzed with energy as students explored the many facets of campus life. Departmental stalls offered glimpses into academic pathways, while student clubs such as dance, music, theatre, coding, entrepreneurship, and social service showcased their initiatives through engaging exhibits. Newcomers had the chance to interact with club members, learn about ongoing activities, and sign up to become part of communities that match their interests. Interactive installations sparked curiosity and conversation, with displays ranging from AI demos and design prototypes to art and innovation booths. Casual games like Ludo and spin-the-wheel added a playful touch to the day. The atmosphere was energetic, filled with conversations, laughter, and moments of connection as seniors shared stories and tips with the new batch.
Engaging with the students and their parents, Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, encouraged students to adopt an open mindset and look beyond academic silos. Dr. Mittal urged them to embrace interdisciplinary learning and take full advantage of the diverse opportunities available across academics, research, entrepreneurship, innovation, and sports. Referring to students who recently secured global packages of ₹1.03 crore and ₹2.5 crore, Dr. Mittal emphasized that consistent effort, smart choices, and seizing the right opportunities can lead to transformative outcomes. Dr. Mittal also spoke about LPU’s value-driven environment rooted in peace, respect, and inclusion, reinforcing the university’s strict zero-tolerance policy against ragging or any form of inhumane behavior. She encouraged students to remain kind, focused, and mindful of the culture they help create.
Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor of LPU, also addressed the gathering, urging students to take ownership of their university journey. “These aren’t just academic years; they are the years that shape your identity, vision, and purpose. Be present, take risks, and allow yourself to grow.”
Adding a celebratory touch, the campus came alive in the evenings with cultural performances featuring music, dance, and theatrical acts by students. These vibrant events offered the newcomers a glimpse into LPU’s inclusive and diverse spirit. For many, it was their first experience of the university’s rich cultural heartbeat.
