CHANDIGARH,25th July, 2025-An insightful Awareness Program on various pension schemes including UPS (Universal Pension Scheme), OPS (Old Pension Scheme), and NPS (National Pension System) was conducted at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh on 25th July, 2025.

The session was led by Mr. Ankit Dixit, Senior Vice President at Uni Pension Fund. He was warmly welcomed by the Director, PEC, Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, the Registrar, Col. R.M Joshi, faculty and staff members of the institute.

The program began with an introduction to the importance of pension planning, emphasizing the need for awareness around retirement schemes and how early planning can ensure financial stability post-retirement.

Mr. Dixit delivered an engaging and informative talk explaining the objectives, features, and key differences between the three major pension schemes: UPS, OPS, and NPS. He highlighted how each scheme evolved to cater to the changing financial and social needs of the workforce. Special focus was laid on the Universal Pension Scheme (UPS), offering additional benefits such as broader coverage and simplified management.

The session ended on an informative note, providing attendees with greater clarity and awareness about retirement planning and the available pension schemes.
