Chandigarh, June 8:- Acting though on the illegal vending, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh conducted a special anti-encroachment drive in Sector 22 this evening.

Following the orders of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, the drive was carried out from 7:00 PM in and around Mini Rose Garden Parking area, the mobile market on the outer side of Sector 22, and the area opposite Kisan Bhawan Market. During the operation, 56 challans were issued to illegal vendors occupying public spaces and obstructing pedestrian movement.

Additionally, two cars selling clothes illegally were impounded near Kiran Cinema parking area, where vendors had set up shop from their vehicles.

The MCC reiterated its firm stance against encroachments and unauthorized vending. Such drives will continue regularly to maintain cleanliness throughout city.
