MCC conducts pre-RFP consultation on Smart Parking Solution with Stakeholders
Chandigarh, May 27:— A Pre-RFP consultation meeting regarding the preparation of the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Smart Parking Solutions was held here today under the chairmanship of Sh. Saurabh Joshi, Councillor and Chairman, of the committee. The meeting aimed at gathering inputs from prospective stakeholders including bidders, vendors, OEMs, and system integrators for the proposed project on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Other Committee members were also present during the meeting included Sh. Umesh Ghai, Smt. Jaswinder Kaur, Smt. Darshana Puri (all Councillors, MCC), and Sh. Sumeet Sihag, Joint CMC-II, and other concerned officers of MCC. The Chairman outlined the vision and objective of the Smart Parking Solution and invited suggestions from stakeholders to enhance the RFP framework.
Stakeholders recommended incorporating a Proof of Concept (PoC), implementing AI-based and RFID-enabled solutions, introducing valet services, and deploying LED display boards for real-time availability updates. Suggestions also included zoning of parking areas, use of ANPR/OCR, allowing consortiums and international firms, and choosing between POS or ticketing machines to reduce costs.
Participants also urged compliance with manpower regulations, inclusion of Geo-fencing, and clarity on legal frameworks concerning stamp duty. A minimum financial turnover of ₹10 crores for bidders was also proposed.
The MCC will evaluate all suggestions for incorporation into the final RFP to ensure a transparent, efficient, and technologically advanced smart parking system for the city.

Field Inspection in Indira Colony By Road committee chairman; Road Repairs to Begin Soon
Chandigarh, May 27:- A joint road inspection has been conducted today at the Indira Colony Community Center, Manimajra, under the Chairmanship of Sh. Dalip Sharma, with the presence of Committee Member Smt. Suman Devi of the Road Committee.
The inspection has been carried out in coordination with the concerned officials, including the Executive Engineer (EE), Sub Divisional Engineer (SDE), and Junior Engineer (JE), to review the current condition of roads in Ward No. 4, Indira Colony.
During the field visit, the officers thoroughly assessed the road infrastructure and assured the Committee that necessary repair and maintenance work will be initiated at the earliest to ensure smooth and safe transportation for residents.
The joint effort aims to expedite road development and ensure timely execution of the required improvements.
