Three arrested under EXCISE ACT
A Case FIR No. 155, u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act, has been registered at Police Station-31, Chandigarh, against Mantun Shah and Krishan Kumar , R/o Shivalik Vihar, Naya Gaon (Punjab). The accused were apprehended from Sector-31/32 dividing road on 09.09.2026 and 2,500 nips & 1,200 half bottles of Dilbar Santra, 300 bottles & 600 half bottles of Dilbar Sofia were recovered from their possession. The accused were later released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 138, u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act, has been registered at Police Station-34, Chandigarh, against Aashish Kumar R/o #809/1, PH-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, aged 25 years. The accused was apprehended from Sector-46 A/B Turn on 09.09.2026 at about 8:15 PM, and 125 boxes of King Gold wine were recovered from his possession. The accused was later released on bail.
One arrested under NDPS ACT
A Case FIR No. 130, u/s 21 NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran Chandigarh, on the complaint against a lady R/o Bapu Dham Colony, Sector-26, Chandigarh, aged 37 years. She was apprehended near Electricity Pole opposite Sant Nirankari Bhawan on 09.09.2026 and 13.60 grams of heroin was recovered from her possession. The accused is in police custody. Investigation of the case is in progress.
SNATCHING
A Case FIR No. 112, u/s 304(2), 126(2), 3(5) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-26, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Bilal Ahmed S/o Gulam Nabi, R/o #20 Chanjloo Malwat, Banihal, Doda, Jammu & Kashmir, aged 32 years, against three unknown motorcycle riders. The complainant alleged that the accused snatched ₹20,000/- cash from him near Footpath, Sector-27/28 dividing road, Chandigarh, on 09.09.2026 at about 2:45 AM. When the complainant raised an alarm, the accused tried to flee, but their motorcycle became unbalanced and fell on the road. All three accused fled from the spot, leaving motorcycle No. CH-01AZ-6428 behind. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 151, u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-39, Chandigarh, on the complaint of a lady R/o , Sector-40/A, Chandigarh, against two unknown Pulsar motorcycle riders. The complainant alleged that the accused snatched her golden chain near One Play Way School, Sector-40, Chandigarh, on 09.09.2026 at about 12:10 PM. Investigation of the case is in progress.
THEFT
A Case FIR No. 105, u/s 305(A), 331(4) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-03, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Surender Mohan Singh Sandhu S/o Lt. Harcharan Singh Sandhu, R/o #113, Sector-8/A, Chandigarh, against an unknown person. The complainant alleged that the accused stole away gold jewellery and other valuables during the intervening night of 08/09.09.2026. Investigation of the case is in progress.
CHEATING
A Case FIR No. 113, u/s 318(4) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-26, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Bhagwan Singh Negi, C/o M/s SAB Industries Ltd., R/o SCO No. 49, Sector-26, Chandigarh, against Arjun Singh, R/o #1331, Kathli Bharan, Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹12,00,000/- on 29.04.2025 in connection with an agreement to purchase 20,000 strawberry mother plants. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Voluntarily Causing Hurt
A Case FIR No. 131, u/s 118(1), 126(2), 190, 191(3), 351(3) BNS, has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Murgan S/o Govind Vel, R/o #1830, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 26 years, against Deepak Rana, Sanjay, Paras, Vishal, Priyanshu and 4–5 others. The complainant alleged that the accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and lethal sticks on 06.09.2026 at about 3:30 PM, resulting in injuries to the victim, who was admitted to GMCH-32. Investigation of the case is in progress.
ACCIDENT
A Case FIR No. 84, u/s 281, 125, 126 BNS, has been registered at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Simar Kaur S/o? — as mentioned in the report, against Sumit Pal S/o Upjeet Singh, R/o SBP Housing Park, Dera Bassi, Punjab, aged 25 years. The report states that the accused, while riding KTM motorcycle No. HR-51BY-4100, hit the complainant on 25.02.2026 at about 10:50 AM. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 152, u/s 281, 125(A) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-31, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Mohit Rai S/o Umesh Rai, R/o #613/C, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh, aged 25 years, against Satybir Singh S/o Subah Singh, R/o Village Bass, District Rewari, Haryana, aged 46 years, driver of Bus No. HR-70GV-4272. The accused allegedly hit the complainant's bike between Zirakpur Barrier and Airport Light Point on 08.09.2026 at about 9:00 PM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to PGI. The accused was later released on bail.
A Case FIR No. 150, u/s 281, 125(A) BNS, has been registered at Police Station-39, Chandigarh, on the complaint of Akhil Soni S/o Rajkumar Soni, R/o #53/17, Attawa, Sector-42, Chandigarh, against an unknown Activa rider. The complainant alleged that the accused hit his bike No. CH-01DB-5801 near Fish Market, Sector-41, Chandigarh, on 08.09.2026 at about 9:30 AM. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GMSH-16, and later referred to PGI. Investigation of the case is in progress.
