CHANDIGARH, 09.09.26-The Department of Fashion Designing, Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Chandigarh, organised a three-hour interactive session titled “Elevating Personal Presence for the Fashion Industry” on 9th September 2026 (Wednesday), in collaboration with ARTIQUETTE – Finishing & Grooming School and RUSA.

The resource person for the session was Ms. Rachna Budwal, Founder and Lead Facilitator of ARTIQUETTE, an expert in Image, Etiquette, Communication and Personal Branding. The primary objective of the session was to equip students with essential professional and interpersonal skills required to confidently navigate the fashion industry and the workplace.

The highly interactive session focused on four key areas: Self-Styling, Presence, Communication and Etiquette. Ms. Rachna highlighted the importance of grooming and first impressions, explaining how personal presentation contributes to one’s professional identity. She also elaborated on body language and confidence, encouraging students to develop a positive and self-assured presence.

The session further covered effective communication skills, self-styling and an understanding of body proportions, enabling students to make informed choices regarding their appearance and professional presentation. Special emphasis was placed on personal branding and professional etiquette, which are increasingly important for students aspiring to build successful careers in the fashion industry.

The programme was conducted under the guidance and support of the Principal, Dr. Ajay Sharma, whose encouragement and vision continue to promote meaningful academic and industry-oriented initiatives for the holistic development of students.

The session was coordinated by Dr. Sumita Sikka, Head, Department of Fashion Designing, along with faculty members Ms. Tania Sharma, Ms. Dikshita, Ms. Mannjot, Ms. Arshdeep, Ms. Rukhsar, Ms. Priya and Mr. Ishdeep Singh.

The interactive format encouraged students to actively participate, ask questions and engage in practical discussions. The session provided valuable insights into the connection between personal presentation, communication and professional success, while equipping students with practical knowledge and confidence to enhance their personal and professional presence.

The programme concluded with an engaging interaction between the resource person and the students, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, Vice Principal of the College. He expressed his appreciation to Ms. Rachna Budwal for sharing her expertise and valuable insights with the students and acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Fashion Designing in organising this industry-oriented initiative.
