Chandigarh, 06.03.2026-Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Sports Secretary, U.T. Chandigarh, accompanied by Sh. Sorabh Kumar Arora, PCS, Director Sports; Sh. CB Ojha, Chief Engineer,and other officers of the Engineering Deptt., U.T., Chandigarh, visited the Sports Complex, Sector 7 and the Lake Swimming Pool to review the ongoing renovation and upgradation works being undertaken to strengthen sports infrastructure and improve facilities for athletes and the general public.

During the visit, the renovation works at the Lake Swimming Pool were reviewed in detail. Various components of the facility were inspected to ensure that the works are being executed as per the prescribed standards and timelines. The officials concerned briefed the team about the improvements being carried out to upgrade the swimming pool infrastructure and related amenities.

The tennis courts and squash courts at the Lake Sports Complex were also inspected. Upgradation works planned at these facilities were reviewed with a focus on improving the quality of sports surfaces, strengthening infrastructure and ensuring better facilities for players and sports enthusiasts.

The Sports Secretary directed the officials concerned to ensure that all renovation and upgradation works are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high standards of quality.

The visit is part of the Administration’s continued efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote greater participation in sports by providing modern and accessible facilities to athletes and the community.
