Chandigarh, 30 January:The Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, today paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his Martyrdom Day at Punjab Lok Bhawan. Officers and employees observed two minutes of silence and offered heartfelt homage to the revered Bapu.

Governor Kataria said that Mahatma Gandhi united a nation rich in linguistic, regional and cultural diversity and gave a new direction to the freedom movement. He said that Gandhiji’s ideals of Swadeshi, self-reliance and cleanliness continue to inspire the vision of an Atmanirbhar and developed India. Emphasising the relevance of Gandhiji’s philosophy, he noted that the message of non-violence holds the extraordinary power to change the world even without weapons.

The Governor further stated that Mahatma Gandhi’s life philosophy and unwavering sense of duty will forever inspire citizens to move forward on the path of nation-building and service to humanity.

Officers and employees of Punjab Lok Bhawan were also present on the occasion and paid their respectful tributes to the Father of the Nation.
