MAHENDERGARH, 12.01.26-On the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare and Swadeshi Jagran Manch, organized a 'Run for Swadeshi' to promote indigenous values among the youth.
The rally was organized from HUDA Park to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Chowk, Mahendergarh. The participating youth were flagged off by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Mahendergarh, Ms. Kanika Goyal, who encouraged the participants to adopt Swadeshi products, set clear life goals, and remain committed to nation-building. She also motivated the youth to contribute actively towards the vision of a developed India.
Prior to the rally, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, addressed the NSS volunteers on the university campus. Highlighting the importance of Swadeshi, he administered a pledge to adopt indigenous products. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasized that Swami Vivekananda is an ideal for the youth and that adopting Swadeshi is essential for the holistic development of India. He urged students to remain aware of Swadeshi products and to spread awareness among society. He further stated that love for the nation and meaningful contribution to its progress begin with supporting indigenous initiatives. On this occasion, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, was also present.
During the programme, District Convener of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Mahendergarh, Shri Rajesh Shastri, apprised the students about the life and contributions of Swami Vivekananda and explained the significance of Swadeshi in national development. The event witnessed the presence of Dean of Students’ Welfare, Prof. Renu Yadav; Prof. Ranbir Singh from Swadeshi Jagran Manch; NSS Coordinator, Dr. Pradeep Kumar; and members of the organizing committee including Dr. Neelam, Dr. Mukesh Upadhyay, Dr. Yudhvir, Dr. Neeraj Karn Singh, Dr. Mulaka Maruti, Dr. Devendra Singh Rajput, and Dr. Kalpana Chauhan, along with a large number of NSS volunteers and students.
