CHANDIGARH, 23.10.25-The Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, convened a meeting today with all Secretaries of the Chandigarh Administration to discuss various inter-departmental issues and review the progress of key administrative initiatives.
At the outset, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need for enhanced coordination among departments to effectively prioritize and resolve inter-departmental matters.

Shri Prasad stressed that the public grievance mechanism must be made more robust and citizen-centric. He instructed that a dedicated Public Grievance Portal for the Chandigarh Administration be developed and made operational at the earliest to ensure prompt resolution of public issues.

He also directed that the Administrator’s Public Grievance format be adopted uniformly by all departments to streamline grievance redressal.

Highlighting the importance of digital governance, the Chief Secretary directed that the e-Office system be implemented in all offices in letter and spirit from 1st November 2025. He stated that all physical files should be discontinued and every official must transition fully to e-Office by the designated date. He reiterated that the Administration must move towards becoming paperless, transparent, and efficient in all its operations.

The Chief Secretary also urged officers to submit clear cut and well-defined proposals in accordance with established rules and procedures, while ensuring that public interest remains a top priority in administrative decision-making. He emphasized that justice, fairness, transparency and efficiency will be guiding principles for every officer and must ensure timely and effective delivery of public services.

Reviewing the implementation of flagship schemes, Shri Prasad directed that all Schemes of Government of India must be implemented in such a way that benefits reach every eligible beneficiary without delay.

Discussing the condition of city roads, he instructed the Engineering Department to expedite ongoing works and complete them at the earliest.

On the issue of parking, he directed the Municipal Corporation to prepare a comprehensive proposal to effectively address parking challenges in the city.

The Chief Secretary also directed that the Recruitment Rules for various departments be finalized at the earliest, and instructed all departments to submit their respective proposals to the Personnel Department for further necessary action.

The meeting was attended by Shri Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary, Shri Diprava Lakra, Finance Secretary, Ms. Prerna Puri, Education Secretary, Shri Amit Kumar, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Shri Saurabh Kumar, CCF, and other senior officers of the Chandigarh Administration.
