Chandigarh/Nanded, October 23:Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, along with Tourism & Cultural Affairs department’s Advisor Deepak Bali, paid obeisance at Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra, followed by a visit to Giani Kulwant Singh Ji, Jathedar of the Takht Sahib.

During the meeting, the Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains with utmost reverence formally invited the Jathedar to attend the 350th Martyrdom Day ceremonies of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. The historic commemorative ceremonies scheduled from 23rd to 25th November, 2025 at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

In a gesture of esteem, the management of the Takht Sahib honoured Harjot Singh Bains with the ceremonial tying of a Dastar (Turban) and presented him with a Siropa (robe of honor), acknowledging his humble visit.

Overwhelmed with devotion and honour, Harjot Singh Bains stated, "To stand on this pious land where Dasmesh Pita Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji walked is a blessing in itself. To be honoured here, at the very Takht where my own Dastar Bandi was performed, is a profoundly emotional and humbling experience. It feels like a divine circle, connecting my personal journey with my duty to be a part of the commemorative ceremonies of the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. This is not merely an invitation, but a heartfelt appeal from the soul of Punjab to the Takht Sahib’s Jathedar.”

Harjot Singh Bains apprised Giani Kulwant Singh ji that over 1 crore Sangat from across the globe are expected to attend 350th Martyrdom Day ceremonies of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji at Sri Anandpur Sahib. To accommodate the sea of devotees, a Tent City “Chakk Nanki” will be set up in the holy city to accommodate over 11,000 devotees daily from November 19 to 30. The events will commence on November 23 with the Akand Path Sahib at 10am, followed by Sarb Dharam Sammelan, an exhibition at Virasat-e-Khalsa, a first ever drone show depicting Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s life and supreme sacrifice at 5pm, and a Kirtan Darbar at 6pm. The day will culminate with "Shahaadat di Lo" that will be illuminated the holy city with the lighting of torches (Mashals). On November 24, Nagar Kirtan 'Sis Bhet' will start from Sri Kiratpur Sahib towards Sri Anandpur Sahib. The Punjab Vidhan Sabha will hold a special session at Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial in Sri Anandpur Sahib for the first time in the history to mark the historic occasion. On November 25, the Bhog of Akhand Path Sahib will be followed by recitals of hymns of 9th Guru Sahib by renowned Kirtanyeas.

He further said that Punjab Government will observe the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji with grandeur to showcase the Guru's enduring legacy of selflessness, defending of faith, righteousness, inclusivity and human rights advocacy.
