CHANDIGARH,06.10.25-The Department of Psychology, GGDSD College, Chandigarh, under the PM-USHA scheme, organized an educational visit to SOREM, a school dedicated to children with intellectual and developmental challenges, on 6th Oct 2025. The initiative was undertaken as part of the department’s educational program and to provide students with first-hand exposure to child behavior, mental health, and special education.
Dr. Tarundeep, Head of the Department of Psychology, emphasized that the visit was designed to bridge classroom learning with real-world application, offering students a unique platform to understand the diverse needs of children while equipping them with skills to work compassionately and effectively in mental health and educational settings.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma, appreciated the initiative and highlighted that this initiative represented a meaningful opportunity for psychology students to apply classroom learning in real-life contexts—an experience central to understanding and supporting the development of children with special needs.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Jatinder and Dr. Minakshi. Their meticulous planning and guidance ensured that the visit was both smooth and enriching for all participants.
