Chandigarh, September 27, 2025: With the aim of strengthening the parent-teacher partnership for student success, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, convened its annual meeting.

The event was graced by Alumna Wing Commander Suprita (Batch 2000–2003) as the Special Guest. Commending the evolution of the education system, she emphasised the pivotal role of parents in today’s technology-driven world. She lauded the principles and practices of MCM, noting that the institution and its dedicated faculty equip students to meet the challenges of the world beyond college.

The meeting witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents across diverse disciplines. As an annual feature of the college, the PTA meeting serves as a vital platform to deliberate on matters of common concern, while incorporating valuable parental feedback into institutional policies. A detailed presentation showcased the college’s illustrious academic achievements, vibrant co-curricular activities, and impactful extension initiatives. Another presentation on the National Education Policy (NEP) and its transformative impact was also delivered. The audience was further enthralled by soulful classical and folk performances by students of the Music Department. During the interactive session, parents wholeheartedly appreciated the college’s consistent efforts to ensure the holistic development of students. They shared positive experiences, lauding the institution’s inclusive and pragmatic approach to education.

In her address, Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma underscored the significance of collaboration between parents and teachers in nurturing students’ overall growth. She remarked that the college serves as a platform for young women to realise their fullest potential. Highlighting the nation’s demographic dividend, she stressed that no country can rise above the standard of its youth, and urged parents to reinforce the institution’s vision in shaping empowered, responsible citizens.
