CHANDIGARH19 September 2025-The Readers Club of the College Library, in collaboration with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32, Chandigarh, organised a vibrant literary event at the Mini Auditorium.
The programme commenced with a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and participants, followed by the inaugural address of Prof. Anirudh Joshi, General Secretary, GGDSD College Society, who underscored the importance of cultivating a reading culture and fostering student leadership through such initiatives.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma highlighted that books and literary forums such as the Readers Club and NDLI Club play a vital role in shaping critical thinking and holistic student development.
The first segment, ‘Words & Wonders’, was the Induction Programme of the Readers Club (2025–26) wherein new members of the club were formally welcomed. A symbolic badging ceremony honoured the core team, entrusting them with the responsibility of leading the club’s activities for the academic session.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh Sohal, Convenor of the Readers Club and President of NDLI Club, elaborated on the vision and mission of both clubs, inspiring students to actively promote a culture of reading, research, and intellectual curiosity.
The spotlight then shifted to the Author Spotlight Series, featuring acclaimed writer Dr. Rana Preet Gill. In her engaging talk, she shared insights from her book “The Ghadar Movement: A Forgotten Struggle”, vividly recounting the lesser-known stories of the movement and its revolutionary zeal.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Registrar, who lauded the efforts of the organisers and encouraged students to keep embracing knowledge, creativity, and critical thinking as cornerstones of their academic and personal growth.
