MAHENDERGARH, 25.05.25-The six-day UGC-sponsored Short Term Programme (STP) on “Applications of Computational Software in Mathematical Sciences and Engineering” concluded at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. The programme was organized by the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (UGC-MMTTC), CUH. The workshop provided a comprehensive introduction along with hands-on training in various mathematical and statistical software tools including R Programming, SPSS, MATLAB, Maple, and Python. Across 24 technical sessions, each lasting 90 minutes, subject experts from reputed institutions delivered lectures and practical demonstrations, aiming to equip participants with in-depth knowledge and exposure to current tools, trends, and applications in the field.

The valedictory function was graced by Senior Professor Dr. Anil Kumar Yadav, Head, Department of Mathematics; Prof. Sunita Srivastava, Head, Department of Physics; and Prof. Promod Kumar, Director, UGC-MMTTC. In his address, Prof.Promod Kumar extended his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for supporting such initiatives. He highlighted the achievements of the UGC-MMTTC, noting that the centre has successfully conducted 21 NEP-2020 Orientation and Sensitization Programmes, 2 Faculty Induction Programmes, 4 Refresher Courses, and 4 Short Term Programmes to date.

Congratulating the participants on completing the programme, Prof. Sunita Srivastava emphasized the growing significance of computational software in academic and research fields, especially as modern curricula increasingly integrate tools requiring such technical proficiency. Prof. A.K. Yadav echoed these sentiments, urging researchers to leverage advanced software such as SPSS, Maple, MATLAB, and Python in their respective domains to enhance the quality and efficiency of research outputs. He encouraged scholars to integrate these tools into their academic work for more effective and innovative outcomes. A total of 32 participants successfully completed the Short Term Programme. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Rajesh Gupta, acknowledging the efforts of the organizers, resource persons, and enthusiastic participants.
