CHANDIGARH,12.08.22-Pacing up the patriotic fervour ahead of Independence Day, State Bank of India Chandigarh Circle organised a Tiranga Yatra Cyclothon and an Inter-school painting competition to motivate everyone to bring home the Tiranga and hoist it.

More than 300 cyclists took out the Tiranga Yatra under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign from SBI Local Head Office Sector 17 to Capitol Complex Chandigarh. Over 200 school children particpitaed in the painting competion who drew posters and paintings under the theme of 75 years of Independence and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Vinod Jaiswal, Chief General Manager, SBI LHO Chandigarh flagged off the Tiranga Yatra and inaugurated the painting competition by lighting the lamp in the presence of General Managers, Deputy General Managers and other senior officials of the Bank.

The SBI painting competition titled as ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’, celebrating colours of happiness and prosperity of 75th Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, in which students from Chandigarh participated in two categories - junior class (6th to 8th), and senior class (9th to 12th). The painting competition was based on the themes of Har Ghar Tiranga, Maa Tujhe Salaam, and Mera Bharat. The participants were provided with drawing sheets and colours. Trophies were given to the first prize winner, 1st runner up 2nd runner up. Besides this, 5 consolation prizes in both categories were also given, as decided by an independent jury.

SBI Ladies club members oversaw the painting competition and the winners were given trophies and participation certificates by Ms Priti Jaiswal, President, SBI Ladies Club, Chandigarh.

CGM Vinod Jaiswal said, "Under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, and Har Ghar Tiranga campaign we decided to host this Tiranga Yatra Cyclothon and a painting competition for the youngsters from various schools and colleges of the city to promote HGT campaign. Such programmes would instil a sense of pride towards the country in the hearts of young Indians as we celebrate the 75 years of Independence."

He also shared that under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign more than 20000 employees of SBI will celebrate the 75 years of Independence by hoisting and displaying the National flag with pride and dignity in their homes and offices across the Circle covering the states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and UTs of J&K, Ladakh and Chandigarh.
