Chandigarh, 01.01.21-: The NCC cadets of the 1 Chandigarh Air Squadron have set their aim high to reach up to the stars by joining the Indian Air Force soon after their graduation as they took part in the combined Annual Training Camp organised at NCC Complex from 29 January and concluded on 31 January 2021. 35 cadets (16 boys and 19 girls) of senior division from colleges had joined the camp.

The valedictory function was presided over by Brig BS Dhillon, Group Commander NCC Group Chandigarh. Cadets performed an array of cultural programme showcasing their creative flair, grandeur of folk art heritage and were given prizes for their excellence in different competitions by Group Commander.

According to Group Captain M R Pandeya, Camp Commandant, "the cadets were trained in various activities like Aeromodeling, Drill, Weapon Training, Personality development &Life saving techniques at the camp.

I joined the NCC two years back and it was my dream to fly and I am grateful to the NCC for providing the students of our college with the training atmosphere, said Cadet Sergeant Love Pandeya of PGGC-11, Chandigarh. Another Cadet Nishtha of DAV-10 said she simply loves the feel of the uniform and the pride attached to it.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig BS Dhillon, praised the cadets for their performance and congratulated the prize winners. "The annual training camp is intended to shape the NCC cadets to become better citizens committed to National Integration. The NCC cadets to come forward to support social causes and serve the needy as the disciplined citizens of the country, he remarked.
