Chandigarh, 30 October: The Postgraduate Department of Commerce and the Department of History at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised educational visits aimed at enhancing practical learning and academic enrichment for students.
The Postgraduate Department of Commerce organised an industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant, Phase 6, Mohali for M.Com students. The visit aimed to provide hands-on understanding of production processes, quality control, packaging, and marketing strategies in the dairy sector. Students interacted with plant officials who elaborated on Verka’s production and distribution mechanisms. The experience offered valuable insights into the operations of one of Punjab’s leading dairy brands and its contribution to the state’s economy.

Students visited key sites including Aam Khas Bagh, Jahaz Haveli, and Gurdwara Fatehgarh Sahib, gaining deeper perspectives on the evolution of Mughal and Sikh architecture, as well as the region’s socio-political and religious history. The guided exploration was led by Mr. Harnoordeep Vats and Ms. Himani Chopra from Times of Yore, who engaged students through interpretive discussions and field-based learning.
