Arms Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Sumit R/o # 2902, Sector-66, Mohali (PB), Sarabjit Singh @ Satta R/o Village-Dhurali, Distt-Mohali (PB) and Maninder Singh @ Manny R/o Village-Dhurali, Distt Mohali (PB) in Baleno car No. CH-121(T)-1552 and recovered one pistol (made in USA), one magazine with 4 cartridges and 2 desi katta’s with 2 cartridges from their possession at road back side of Police Line, Sector-26, Chandigarh towards BDC light point to St. Kabir Turn on 13.09.2020. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for MV theft

Vishal Mishra R/o # 6, Village-Buterla, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Discover M/Cycle No. CH-01AQ-2763 parked near Village Buterla Gate, Sector 41, Chandigarh on the night intervening 12/13-09-2020. A case FIR No. 284, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later, one person namely Jatinder R/o # 1594/B, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh (age 23 years) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Suraj Arya R/o # 26, Village-Khudda Jassu, Chandigarh, reported that unknown person stole away battery from his Mahindra Pick-up No. CH-03S-6372 and also stolen batteries of other vehicles Maruti car No. CH-03R-2308, Tavera car No. PB-01A-4448, Maruti car No. HP-11-9139, Maruti Zen car No. CH-01BD-8963, Mahindra Pick-up No. CH-01TA-1978, Maruti car No. CH03-1786 and Maruti car No. HP-62B-0838 while all vehicles parked near his house on the night intervening 12/13-09-2020. A case FIR No. 117, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh Investigation of the case is in progress.

MAJOR SUCCESS BY CRIME BRANCH OF CHANDIGARH POLICE

In a major breakthrough the Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Satvinder Singh and close guidance of Sh. Rajiv Ambasta, DSP Crime is able to arrest the Gang Members of Deepu Banur and recovered 1 pistol, 2 desi Katte and 6 live cartridges.

Brief Facts

On 13.9.2020 a secret information that the three persons were roaming in the area of Chandigarh in Baleno Car with illegal weapon as they have come to Chandigarh to take revenge of his old enmity. Acting upon this information a naka was laid down back side of Police Lines Sec.26, Chandigarh road toward BDC to Sant Kabir Turn. At about 1.30 pm one Grey Colour Baleno Car No. CH121T-1552 sitting three persons came there and they were stopped and all three tried to flee away, but they were apprehended with the help of police officials. They disclosed their name as Sumit s/o Sh. Shayam Sunder Singh R/o # 2902, Sec.66, Mohali, Age 25 years., Sarabjeet Singh @ Satta s/o Late Sh. Rashpal Singh R/o Vill. Dhurali PS. Sohana, Distt. Mohali and Maninder Singh @ Manny S/o Sh. Tarlochan Singh R/o VPO. Dhurali PS. Sohana, Distt. Mohali. During the search of them one pistol and 4 cartridges with magazine recovered from the possession of Sumit, one Desi Katta with one live cartridge was recovered from Sarabjit Singh and one desi kata with one live cartridge was recovered from Maninder Singh. All were arrested and in this regard the above said case was got registered.

  1. 2. Sarabjeet Singh @ Satta s/o Late Sh. Rashpal Singh R/o Vill. Dhurali PS. Sohana, Distt. Mohali. Age 25 years.

  1. 3. Maninder Singh @ Manny S/o Sh. Tarlochan Singh R/o VPO. Dhurali PS. Sohana, Distt. Mohali. Age 27 years.

During the course of investigation it came on record that Sumit and Maninder Singh @ Manny have tainted past:-

  1. Maninder Singh @ Manny was previously involved in total 5 cases i.e. 3 cases of dacoity (2 of Punjab and 1 of Chandigarh), 1 case of corruption and 1 case of rioting in Punjab.
  2. Sumit was involved in 3 cases i.e. 1 case of Robbery, 1 case of Arms Act and 1 case of Rioting in Punjab.

All the accused were produced in the court and their 4 days police remand obtained. Investigation is still in progress.
