zirakpur,08.04.20-The migrants from Bihar who are unable to go back their homes, staying in a construction area where their daily bread earning has stopped; were visited by NGO Tammana for distribution of basic food essentials and other amenities here today near Gurudwara Nabha Sahib, Patiala Road, Zirakpur on April 6th'2020 on a sunny afternoon with due nod from the administration.

The Founder President, Isha Kakaria shared that the motive of Initiative “KARONA” is to bridge the gap between those who need and those who have. These people live on their daily wages and due to negligible work available, they can’t provide for themselves and their families. In this odd hour, we stand firm to provide them all the basic essentials and amenities.100 gunny bags were distributed to these families; each consisting of wheat flour, rice, lentils, oil, spices, and vegetables.

Majorly, to sensitize them about maintaining hygiene, a basic hygiene kit consisting of soaps, shampoo, toothbrush, and toothpaste was distributed as well.The General Secretary, Jaskaran Singh shared that the last time they visited the area, people had requested for face masks to ensure their safety. So as requested, special handmade MASKS were distributed to them to ensure their well-being.The Team is taking complete care in terms of their own safety. It remains our priority to wear the masks & gloves ourselves while the distribution is carried out.Contributions from within the team & from the public have been overwhelming, helping conduct the distribution drives successfully. NGO Tammana is determined to carry out further food distribution drives in the Tricity with all due permissions that are taken.
