Panjab University’s MOOC Course listed among top 5 Courses of UGC SWAYAM.

Panjab University’s MOOC Course (Massive online open Course) on Digital Marketing has
been listed amongst the top 5 courses of the University Grants Commission (UGC), New
Delhi currently being offered on Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD)’s SWAYAM
The present course on Digital Marketing is being offered by Dr. Tejinderpal Singh,
Associate Professor at University Business School. For the session July-Oct 2019, there
are 43 online Courses offered by UGC on SWAYAM platform on diverse subjects. The
present course on digital marketing has 7641 enrolments and has been listed amongst top
five courses. The learners in this course are from pan India and aboard that shows the
popularity of this course. This course is of 4 Credits Course and after the successful
completion of the course learners will receive a certificate jointly issued by UGC and
Panjab University. Presently, those who are enrolled for the course can register for
final examination by paying fee of INR 1000 (INR 500 from SC/ST/ Women). Further, as
per the latest guidelines issued by the MHRD the entire fee will be refunded, if a
candidate pass the exam by securing 40 % marks that is also a minimum pass criteria
Dr Singh received a grant of Rs.13.5 lakh to develop this course from University Grants
Commission. The course content includes videos, e-content, assessments and discussion
forums. Dr Singh urged the teaching fraternity to come forward and develop more MOOC
Courses as these courses are a great platform to reach the unreached.

Lecture at History Deptt , PU

Researcher’s Society, Department of History organised a special lecture on “Personal
Excellence” which was delivered by Mr. Vinod Pandey, a renowned motivational speaker.
He made a part of his presentation in question-answer form. In his PPT presentation he
referred to Histogram. The importance of orientation, questions to self, consciousness,
concentration was highlighted in one’s life. In the session, Mr Pandey explained how to
deal with the challenges faced by the students; he dilated on stress related issues.
The lecture was started with the introduction of the Researcher’s Society and the
floral welcome of the guest Mr. Vinod Pandey. Prof. AnjuSuri, Chairperson and
Professor, Department of History, Panjab Univesity introduced formally our guest.
Approximately 80 participants witnessed this lecture who came from various departments
of the Panjab University and different colleges of Chandigarh.
