Chandigarh,15.04.19-MCM DAV College for Women organised farewell to bid adieu to its outgoing hostellers and students in two different functions. Sh.H..R Gandhar, Senior Governing Body Member, DAV College Managing Committee (DAV CMC), accompanied by Mrs.Sudesh Gandhar, Senior Member, DAV CMC, graced the hostel farewell as the Chief Guest. Sh.Sarvesh Kaushal, IAS, Former Chief Secretary, Punjab, Prof. Anita Kaushal, Fellow PU and Principal, PGGCG-11, Prof. Karamjit Singh, Registrar PU, Prof.Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, PU, Prof.Parvinder Singh, Controller Examinations, PU, Dr.Gurdip Sharma, Senior Fellow and Syndic, PU, Dr.B.C.Josan, Fellow PU, Dr.Dilip Kumar, Additional State Project Director, RUSA, Prof.Deepti Gupta, MCM Alumna and Chairperson, Department of English & Cultural Studies, PU, Sh.Sanjiv Gupta, Prof.Promila Pathak, Department of Botany, PU and Prof.K.C. Mahant enlivened the function with their presence during the hostel farewell. Addressing the outgoing students as the trustees and custodians of DAV values, Sh.H.R.Gandhar motivated them to adopt a collaborative approach in all the endeavours of life as oneness of thinking leads to great accomplishments and achievements for the human race. He appreciated the tasteful performances of the students and added that real beauty lies in symmetry, harmony and balance, which was reflecting in all the performances.

As an expression of their adoration for Principal Dr.Nisha Bhargava, the Afghani students of the college presented her a portrait of herself. Cultural extravaganza marked both the occasions, with an array of enthralling dance performances, music and fun games that captivated the students as they tried to make the most of the precious moments before bidding adieu to the college. Applauding the spectacular show put up by the students, the guests were all praises for the superlative talent nurtured at MCM. The functions also saw confident young girls walking down the ramp competing for the coveted MCM Hostel Eve, MCM Hostel Queen and MCM Princess, MCM Queen crowns. In the hostel farewell, Hasrat (MA Psychology) was crowned MCM Hostel Queen while Tapasya (BA III) was adjudged MCM Hostel Eve, Ridhi (B.Sc.III) was crowned 1st Runner up and Saloni (BA III) was declared 2nd Runner up. During the college farewell, Sushmita (BA III) took away the MCM Princess crown, Janvi (BA III) was chosen 1st Runner up and Bhavya (B.Com. III) won the 2nd Runner up title. In the Postgraduate category, the crown of MCM Queen went to Diksha (MA II).

MCM Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava wished the outgoing students success and glory in life and prodded them to observe the revered value system inculcated in them during their college years. Highlighting the significant role of alumni in making an institution great, she urged the outgoing students to be the ambassadors of the college and support it in whichever way possible. She shared some insightful life lessons with the students and advised them to cultivate hobbies in order to relieve stress in life.
