Monitoring and Evaluation is the key agenda of Day 3 of ongoing International Health Management Program in PGIMER

Chandigarh,22.03.18-Dr. Sonu Goel, Program Director took an exclusive session on Monitoring and Evaluation as crucial components of planning cycle in order to extract the desired outcomes from the National Health Programs. In order to escalate the effectiveness of Public Health Programs in developing countries, monitoring and evaluation are the guides for key decisions of capacity building and allocation resources. This was followed by Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Professor, School of Public Health, PGIMER deliberation on communication to foster health-promoting environments and provide considerable opportunity to advance the public's health. He also emphasised that Public health agencies should use their communication and marketing resources effectively to support healthful decisions. Dr. Suresh K. Chadha, Ex Director, UBS stated on strategic behavior change communication planning and motivated them to accomplish their ultimate goals. Dr. Garima, PGIMER deliberated and demonstrated benefits of merging IT technology in health sector and issues of various Web-based initiatives in HMIS. The delegates participated in the Role Plays and reciprocating with the same zeal and thus the day concluded.

 Vardhman Lends a Helping Hand to Poor & Needy Patients

 Continues Their Generous Gesture of Last Year

 Donates Rs.25 Lakh to PGIMER’s Poor Patients Welfare Fund

 Vardhamn lends Chandigarh : 22 March : Leading Corporate Conglomerate, Vardhman Group believes in holistic development where business goes hand in hand with societal well-being. In sync with their philosophy of social responsibility, Vardhman Group donated Rs. 25 L (Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs) to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER) and lent a helping hand to poor and needy patients here in PGIMER today.

 

The generous donation comes as a continuation of the tradition of charitable contributions as Vardhman Group had contributed the same amount of Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs to PGIMER’s Poor Patients Welfare Fund last year as well.

 

On behalf of Vardhman Group, Mr. A.K. Kundra, IAS (Retd), Sh. Neeraj Jain, Joint Managing Director and Mr. J.S. Sidhu, Director presented a cheque amounting to Rupees Twenty Five Lakhs under their CSR initiatives. The cheque was received by Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER. Other present includes Prof. Arvind Rajwanshi, Sub Dean, Sh. Kumar Abhey, Financial Adviser and Dr. Navin Pandey, Asst Prof, Hospital Administration, PGI.

 

Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER stated, “Considering the fact that 20% of the patients here in PGIMER come from extremely poor strata of society, rather below the poverty line, this bountiful contribution by Vardhman Group will impact many impoverished patients, in dire need of medicines and treatment.”

 

“With their generosity and social commitment towards those ‘not so privileged,’ Vardhman Group has also set a role model for others to emulate. I hope other corporates and philanthropists will also follow the suit and hand-hold the destitute patients, thereby, render true service to mankind,” added Prof. Jagat Ram as the Director exhorted others also to support the cause and contribute towards PGIMER’s Poor Patients Welfare Fund.
