One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Rocky R/o # 569/1, Sector-38/A, Chandigarh (Age-22 years) and recovered 50 injections of Promethazine Hydrochloride & injections of Pentazocine from his possession near turn, Sector-38/A&B towards Slip Road, Chandigarh on 29.12.2021. A case FIR No. 318, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sumit R/o # 83/A, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Splendor M/Cycle No. CH-01AX-7931 parked in front of his residence. A case FIR No. 112, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A girl resident of Khudda Lahora, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AZ-3311 from parking near Dominos Pizza Shop, Sector-38, Chandigarh on 25-12-2021. A case FIR No. 317, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.


A case FIR No. 253, U/S 406, 420 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Bhupinder Singh R/o SCF No. 18, OPN Enterprises, Fruits and Vegetables, Grain Market, Sector-26, Chandigarh who alleged that Manjeet Singh R/o Shop No. 86, Vallah Mandi, Amritsar (PB) placed an order of 6000 green coconuts worth Rs. 2,93,376 on 27.07.2021. But after delivery of the consignment the alleged person did not pay the amount and started making excuses. Investigation of the case is in progress.


Uday Raj R/o # 430, Sector-33/A, Chandigarh (working as watchman) reported that unknown person stole away 18/20 taps from H.No. 1210, Sector-34/C, Chandigarh on 29.12.2021. A case FIR No. 199, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.



Chandigarh Police has shown professional acumen by developing clue about the accused of recent reported case through technical / CCTV assistance and on 30.12.2021 arrested the accused namely Himanshu @ Hemu S/o Anil Kumar belongs to NayaGaon within 40 hours under the supervision of Sh. KetanBansal, IPS, SP/City and Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, DSP/Central.

That, a case FIR No 100 dated 29.12.2021U/S 353,426,435,34 IPC was registered on the complaint of Constable AmitDeswal, wherein he reported that he is enrolled in 4th Battalion, HAP as a constable. On dated 28-29.12.2021, he deputed at guard at reception gate of Haryana MLA Hostel, Sector 03 Chandigarh as a santry from 10:00 AM to 02:00 AM. At about 11:25 PM, a white color car came at MLA Hostel and 3-4 men were sitting in the car. One person got down from the car and he broken the front glass of Fortuner car bearing No. HR 10 AA 0003. When the car signaled an alarm then he noticed that the above said person tampered with the car. On this, he ran towards the suspected person and he sped away from the spot with his associateswho were sitting in the car. After that, he gave the message to Telephone Operator Anand about this incident. At about 12:10 AM, the same car entered MLA Hostel from the main gate and stopped near the main gate. As he ran towards the main gate, he found that the above Fortuner car set fire by this person, who was in red color jacket. He tried to apprehendbut he scuffled and pushed him and run away.Thereafter, he revealed that the above said vehicle belongs to Sh. ParmodVij, MLA Panipat (HR).

During the course of investigation, on the direction of W/SSP/UT Chandigarh a team was constituted under the supervision of Sh. KetanBansal, IPS, SP/City and headed by Sh. Charanjit Singh Virk, DSP/Central, Inspector Sher Singh SHO/PS 03, Chd and SI Suneel Kumar, PS 03, who geared up source of information and developed clue through technical / CCTV assistance and by showing professional acumen by the team and arrested the accused near road towards NayaGaon, Kansal Turn, back side of Secretariat. Further, alleged vehicle PB-05-M-6156 make Ford I-Con, white color which was involved in the commission of offence has also been recovered. Further investigation in the present case is underway.

Modus Operendi AccusedHimanshu @ Hemualong with his associates Mukesh, Tilluetc. came in Car No. PB-05-M-6156 make Ford I-Con in market Sector 10 Chandigarh for dinner etc. In the parking opposite gate of Mount view Hotel, sector 10 Chandigarh, the accused person scuffled with the gunman and driver of Fortuner car bearing No. HR 10 AA 0003, while reversed their car. During this time, the said car collided with the alleged car Ford I-Con. In order to take revenge, the accused person set the fire on Fortuner Car,which was parked in MLA, Sector 03, Chandigarh during intervening night 28-29.12.2021.


Chandigarh Police Arrangements on New Year Eve 2022

The New Year is celebrated at various places in the city and people from neighboring states also come to Chandigarh ‘The City Beautiful’ to celebrate New Year. Keeping in view the prevailing security scenario and enthusiasm of people regarding celebration of New Year in the city, the proper law & order, security and traffic arrangements have been made by the Chandigarh Police.

Therefore, in this view, Chandigarh Police has deployed adequate force from Police Stations, Security, intelligence and Traffic in the city by deploying force of 1800 (approximately) which includes 10 GOs and 16 SHO, 24 Inspectors and 1672 NGOs/ORs. All Hotels, Clubs, Restaurants, Community Centers, Markets, prominent places will be covered by deployment of maximum police force including lady police officials.

A special ‘Lady Police Squad’ has been formed under the supervision of 4 inspectors to assist the women/girls in the city. Further, 8 PCR Vehicles with lady police officials will be deployed at 8 prominent places in the city to provide pick and drop facility to women and all possible help to them in case of need.

In addition to above, 43 internal Naka’s will be deployed and 7 main outer barriers will be strengthened to keep check on incoming and outgoing of vehicles in the city. Special Drunken Driving Naka’s on the eve of New Year 2022 will be set at different points in the City. Patrolling of PCR Vehicles will be intensified in the city especially around the places of function. Special Anti-Sabotage Check is being carried out at important places of function from anti explosive / sabotage point of view.

Resultant on 30.12.2021 ASI Surjit Singh,ConstableNeeraj and volBalbir Singh achieved a success during patrolling at near inner road, Parking area of Japani Park, Sector-31, Chd as arrested the Proclaimed Offender (PO) namely Sagar s/o Arjun R/o 953, Phase-1 Ramdarbar Chd. Sagar was declared PO on 14.12.2021 in case Fir no 45 dt12.2.2015 147,148,379,427 IPC by the Hon’ble Court of MsLovejinder Kaur JMIC, Chandigarh.


DRUG Drug Disposal Committee (DDC)

Today, i.e., 30.12.2021, Drug Disposal Committee (DDC) constituted by W/Director General of Police, U.T, Chandigarh comprising of Sh. Manoj Kumar Meena, IPS, SP Crime & HQ as Chairman, Ms. Meera Kumari Meena, Superintendent, NCB, Chandigarh & Sh. Rajnish, DANIPS, DSP Crime has disposed-off the contraband drugs of 105 NDPS Act cases of Police Station Mauli Jagran, Industrial Area, IT Park, Maloya, Sector 11, 31, 36, 39 & Sector-49, Chandigarh in which Heroin, Puppy Husk, Ganja, Smack, Intoxicant Injections & Capsules were seized. Today, seized drugs of Mauli Jagran, Industrial Area, IT Park, Maloya, Sector 11, 31, 36, 39 & Sector-49, Chandigarh were disposed-off as these were found fit for disposal by Drug Disposal Committee (DDC) after scrutinizing of all details. The drugs were disposed-off at M/s Punjab Chemicals, & Crop Protection Limited, Derabassi, Mohali, Punjab through incinerator installed in the company. The mandatory drug disposal process requirements were complied with by the Drug Disposal Committee. The quantity of drugs disposed in 105 NDPS Act cases is as under:-
