Chandigarh, October 5 - Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh has extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Indian contingent for its remarkable performance at the Asian Games 2026, in which Indian athletes have won 85 medals for the nation.

The Governor expressed particular pride in the outstanding contribution of athletes from Haryana, who have won 32 medals, comprising 14 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said that the exceptional performance of Indian sportspersons reflects the country's growing strength, talent and determination in the field of sports. He said that Indian athletes are consistently making their mark on the international sporting arena through their hard work, discipline and dedication.

The Governor said that Haryana continues to play an important role in India's sporting success, with its athletes bringing laurels to the State and the country through their outstanding performances at national and international competitions.

He congratulated all the medal winners and their coaches, support staff and families for their contribution to this achievement. He also appreciated the efforts of those athletes who narrowly missed out on a medal, saying that their perseverance, commitment and sporting spirit are equally commendable.
