Chandigarh, 17.09.26-In line with the directions of the Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, to curb drug abuse, and under the guidance of the Secretary Health and the Director Health Services-cum-Drugs Controller, U.T. Chandigarh, a joint team of the Drugs Control Wing and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force conducted raids at six chemist shops in Village Kajheri and Bapu Dham Colony.

The Drugs Control Wing team comprised Mr. Tajinder Singh, Drugs Inspector, and Mr. Amit Lakhanpal, Drugs Inspector, Chandigarh Administration.

During the raids, five chemist shops were found violating various provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the rules framed thereunder. The Drugs Controller, U.T. Chandigarh, is issuing show-cause notices to the firms concerned for further action in accordance with the applicable law.

The Chandigarh Administration reiterated that such enforcement drives will continue to ensure strict compliance with drug-control laws and prevent the misuse of medicines.
